Again, not happening. For one, you don't do QB competitions when one of your QB's has a $60 mil contract and the other is $2 mil. You're saying right there that Kap isn't worth his contract because it would be questioning him as a starter. Two, a trade is highly unlikely with the contract that Kap has, we are better off hoping for a trade for Gabbert and getting a good pick in return.
You don't start a QB just because he makes more. Whoever Kelly starts better be starting because they are the best.
You just don't bench him either, it makes you (the GM) look stupid for giving him such a big contract. Now if Kap was injured, then of course he sits on the bench.

Exactly. Even if they kept kap for 2016, Chip is NOT Harb. Chip can care less about benching Kap or hurting his feelings or confidence. Chip is not tie to kap and has shown he will go with the better player or a different option when one has failed. Kap will be traded after 2016 if they don't trade him or cut him before 4/1.
