Not that there was much of a chance, but #49ers aren't trading Colin Kaepernick. They haven't ruled him out starting later in the season.

well........ he is the best option when/if gabbert goes down.

nothing wrong with that. let him set for a while,, or if gabbert blows really bad he comes back in. who knows. maybe setting him will be good for him in the long run. he has hit rock bottom so he sets. i am glad the team says they are leaving the door open for him to come back later this year
No press conference regarding this??? Are there please other changes coming too? Devey? Pears? Something???

I agree. I think that's what he needs if he's ever going to get it together.

i think you and all of us know the answer to that one
Whats embarrassing is that the Coaching staff wanted to bench Kap after the Seahawks game but wanted to wait for the weaker Falcons D at home to start Gabbert. Which means they really didnt have any plans on winning yet another important Divisional game against the Rams. These morons covet games against AFC opponents more than our own division. No wonder Kap didn't even try to audible or play on Sunday, Dude already checked out, just look at his body language.

Another source stated the person who leaks the information is not Jed York, but Paraag Marathe. Apparently, Marathe was the main person responsible for the leaks regarding Jim Harbaugh last year and it seems likely he is partially responsible for the Kaepernick drama. Even if York did not leak the information himself, his office seemingly is involved in it. At the very least, York and the other execs cannot keep their feelings discreet. Or, the execs purposefully use it as a tool to gain public support of their decisions.
spot on imo

The Warriors are pretty special right now, but you are right...I'm watching more college football than in recent years. Might start a mock draft really early! LOL!

Stubborn QB: "While Vernon Davis has endured a lot of heat for his calling out Kaepernick in a team meeting, it is my impression he was really trying to help Kap understand the vantage point of a receiver. And, apparently, whether it was his approach or his attitude, he never got through to Colin Kaepernick. And, apparently neither did Boldin."

Wonder why we traded Vernon if we were going to bench Kap either way? Well...actually, I don't think Vernon's weaknesses work with Gabbert.

Yup. It's interesting that the WR's and coaches tried to get Kap to see it from the WR's perspective but Kap just cannot move forward.

Denver most likely called with an offer. VD was going to be FA anyway. after the past two seasons, Vernon has played like crap. he's been outplayed by Celek. i don't think Baalke was looking to re-sign him. might as well get something for him.

Vernon checked out when we didn't restructure his contract but we did with Boone after Boone held out. Vernon tried to be a team player last year by ending his holdout.

I think he has too many holes but hope he has success and maybe we traded him so that he can rack up some stats to increase his FA value.

Dude didnt care at all this game in fact the whole coaching staff didnt either. Why do you think we called 3 straight runs here? Kap was supposed to be benched after the SEA game but the coaches didnt want Gabbert to face the RAMS D. So you really think Kap gave a f**k about this game and wasnt on autopilot?

This seems clearly the case, and they have Bell and Anderson as rookies this year.
