punt returner or ST gunner.
You found him a position, I honestly could not think of one. He doesn't have the lateral moves and the quick bursts to be a punt returner, but the high straight line top end speed with his size could make a lot of return men wave for a fair catch.

i could see kap making a lot of "business decisions" when it came time to make a tackle though...... or he would just get manhandled out of bounds.....

With 3 hours left before the deadline ends, what would you be happy with if we traded Kap to the Jets or Eagles? 2nd rounder? Player?

Kenricks and a draft pick for Kap??

I would love that.

Insider Buzz: 49ers still believe in Colin Kaepernick, plan to get him back on field

WTF?

Well, I mean what are they going to say. Of course they hope he gets his s**t together and comes back to light the world on fire. There is no chance Gabby is the long term answer. Even if he doesn't come back we have to put it out there that he could so you can try to sell him off.

Need to say that when they're trying to trade him.

Alex had been benched many times, wasn't traded until something better came along

We don't have anyone better right now

Yep. ZERO benefit for them to say "We know he sucks and we'll never play him again".

Right! They get to get rid of his contract and get a QB taylor made for Chip Kelly and we get a stud ILB and a pick.

I'm not expecting anything higher than the VD trade. Or maybe a one-for-one swap for a backup. RGIII for Kaep would be have been weird a few years ago.

It'd be a dream to get a 2nd rounder. But it'd be awesome: Goff + Jack

We'll see. Gabbert is getting his shot. Kaepernick will be back in before the end of the season if Gabbert looks worse, which he very well may. In the mean time, work on special stuff with CK. Implement as much running as you can basically.

Seems like he's just not, and may never be, ready to run a traditional offense. So start slowly formulating a hybrid gimmick system. Sad to say, I feel like that's the only way to make him functional again. Let him run gimmick plays, college style, and get him back to just playing like himself.

No offense, but if you are saying this mess is all on Kaepernick then you are just affirming that you don't know chit. And furthermore, you are buying the front office misdirection blame game. It is not like this is a rook who never performed on the biggest stage and under the most pressure imaginable ... on the road multiple times. He may be done here, but he is not done in this league. The best thing that could happen to Kap is a fresh start with an even middle of the road OL. I bet Kap is down on his knees and praying he is lucky enough to get out of this fetid, steaming cesspool the 49ers franchise has devolved to. Jed ain't selling, so better to go somewhere that Jed ain't at.

Kap needs more than a middle of the road OL. He needs to work on his QBing a lot more if he wants to be a starter in the league.

All QBs need to work on their games, and do. It's pretty obvious Kaepernick and the OL are killing each other though. Is some of it coaching? Play calling? Geep started the game with short passes and helped CK and the OL a great deal but, as someone pointed out, they went away from that strategy to a large extent after the first drive.

Not sure if Kaepernick will ever be able to have consistently good fundamental skills...footwork being primarily his achilles heal (pun intended).

I don't think they went away from that strategy. Opening up with shorter passes means calling a few deep passes later. They were open but Kap didn't pull the trigger. Then you get to 2nd and 13 or 2nd and 10 and the original strategy gets adjusted.

You're probably correct, but I'll likely not be able to rewatch this game. Maybe the breakdown threads will cover it? Haven't even looked to see if they are up yet...just want to enjoy the Warriors bombing everyone in sight for a few days and forget football! (except for the zone!)

Not that there was much of a chance, but #49ers aren't trading Colin Kaepernick. They haven't ruled him out starting later in the season.

Try watching the college games. Much more entertaining and relaxing knowing I don't have a dog in the fight
