He went on IR in late October. Beadles was the backup at tackle, especially when Garoppolo came in.

I don't get the faith in Gilliam, he wasn't that good for Seattle and their OL is trash. Hopefully Coleman pushes him off the roster.

I'll assume this is for me. This is what I wrote in response to the claim that the front office did not spend enough resources on OL.

The front office sunk a 9th overall and made Richburg the third highest paid center. They also spent $5 to bring in Cooper who fizzled out. When depth gets tested to the point that the OL has to shuffle players around, of course it won't look good against the MIN DL. But it doesn't change the fact that the front office did spend plenty of capital on the OL this offseason.

Getting something back for Brown was better than letting him walk with zero compensation. You don't draft a tackle at #9 for them to be a swing tackle.

Amazing failure to recognize the importance of drafting OL regularly in high to mid rounds. 1 first rounder, two 3rd rounders and a bunch of lower picks. Oddly, Brown may have been the best being drafted in the 7th.

Given this track record I am a bit disappointed Lynch/Shanahan did not draft more OL the past two years (McG is the only guy). Perhaps they were trying to stabilize the OL with veterans...rookies would take longer to jell.

a/ keeping last year's swing T
b/ having a swing T returning from last year's injury
c/ trading a 7th for a top-60 tackle
d/ keeping two more OTs on the PS
counts as SOMETHING.

Yep, nice post dtg, more work needs doing on the O line.

So we are just staying pat at guard??? We brought in LBs, but our solution is to put McGlinchey at guard???
