Regardless if they dont have a great game in seattle, they have still been tremendous so far

Agreed!
Revenge week. I want to see the OL come out with a chip on their shoulder and smash that Seattle DL. Keep Brock clean and open those running lanes.

Likely the hardest game of the season, and even if they lose will still be in great shape. If they enter the bye week at 6-1, they hopefully get healthier and even better.

Add kittle as ol!

This is why he's the best TE in the league
Brock Purdy is also responsible,... but after a whole offseason where everyone and their mothers were complaining about the OL, they deserve some accolade

9ers strategy seems obvious now - when you are usually drafting bottom of the round, there aren't a lot of OL starters there. They are a developmental player anyway. So if you are going to take a player to develop for a year why not take a 3rd-6th? Additionally, if your team has a LOT of other needs over an OL starter that have bigger impacts on the game -- WR, DL, etc, then those players are gonna take priority over an OL 1st rounder.

Colby is a good example this year. McKivitz was a good example replacing McGlintchy. Even Puni stepped in due to injury to start as a rookie and then held the job. It will be super interesting to see if Cruz can develop. Given how raw he looked in preseason this year, if he becomes the swing tackle next year that would be some amazing development work by the coaches.

If Cruz develops into a starter level OLineman at left tackle, thats the equivalent of a first round pick. You don't start an average talent at the QB's blind spot.

Agree, if Cruz and Carver Willis can develop, that will be an amazing miracle.

I like Willis a lot he comes from the same scheme as us (similar to Colby) so its about getting ready physically for him as it was with Colby. Cruz is the opposite has all the physical tools. He needs to literally just practice for a year. If i were 49ers i wouldnt even let him practice with the team just hire him a 1 on 1 OL coach and let him work with him during practice

Agree and I'll add that Jarrett Patterson is in the mould of a young Jake Brendel. He's Less athletic than Carver or Cruz, but has a ton of center experience and a better pass protector than a run blocker (like Brendel). Drake Nuget rounds out the practice squad OLine and Drake is another potential diamond in the rough.
Remember when the 9ers OL could open up huge lanes through the middle for Gore? Miss that.

I doubt we'll see much of power (which is what Niners under Harbaugh and most Harbaugh teams run) as long as Shanahan is the coach, after all his dad is perhaps most known for his zone blocking scheme.

Agree, those Roman OLines had massive offensive linemen, weighing at least 330+ - they couldn't run fast, but they had a ton of power and road graded a lot of DLines in their day.

They have played great & hoping for another great game Sunday!
O-line getting exposed AGAIN by Shehawk D-line.

Brendal and Colby are terrible!
