Has Baalke done a good job of getting some speed for this offense this offseason?

I think Baalke just out smarts himself when drafting Wideouts.

Like when he drafted A.J. Jenkins....alot of us were like, why him and why there.

I felt the same way about Bruce...but hopefully he pans out. Just need to use him to his strengths.
Look at the two teams that played in the Super Bowl, who was the top speedster on the outside? Who, for that matter was the best #1 receiver in the Super Bowl? Yeah, speed to the outside is over rated, play calling, good QB play, balanced offenses, there a plenty of things we have lacked for the last decade, so yes he has added some speed to the offense. I wonder if we can take advantage of it, heck I even wonder if it is needed.

You can spread defenses wide, as well as deep, if you can do both then you have something extra special. We have not had the talent to spread defenses wide, or deep. I like the addition of Bush, not because I this k he has much left in the tank, but he represents to me a plan to throw to the backs, and spread the field wide. I hope Hunter gets better, and Kaep develops the touch to work the sidelines.

Bruce was picked around where he was projected. Not so much for AJJ. We reached on AJJ and the kid didn't put in the work to justify the pick either according to his teammates. This year it is simpler IMO. If Parker White or Cooper are at 15 you turn in that card. If not then you either move back for Strong or DGB or select one of a OL DL or CB. If we don't get a WR in round one then we need to potentially move up round 2 and get our guy. We have to find Torrey's complement for when Boldin is gone to emerge as our go to guy
Well yeah he got speed

Speed isn't necessarily what we need either. Smith filled that void, now he's got other tasks.

SOOO GOOD, we've been searching for the same speed WR that stretches the field since 2010 and we'll still be searching for him next year. A guy that has caught more then 50 passes just once in his career (with a big armed QB like Flaco) doesn't project as a true #1 WR.

1) What we need is to move up in the draft and get a bonafide game breaking top 1-2 WR. Forget cheap, forget value, for once get the best. This team needs a bold move to keep up point for point with the R. Wilson, Jimmie Graham, and Marshawn Lynch 3 headed monster.
2) A DB that will push wasted #1 pick Jimmie Ward to the practice squad. No more midgets that are too small to cover tall WRs & TEs like Graham or too flat footed to keep up with the faster, shiftier ones. If we are sooooo talented already on this team, then all those picks we have will be wasted because they'll have to be cut. So why not get some true talent in here. Quality, not quantity.

If we can't beat the best team in the division, then all these moves we're doing this off season are pointless.

ellington and patton are still here as well. both are just waiting for more chances to show what theyve got. hopefully tomsula gives the rooks more chances than harbaugh did. i love harbaugh but he waaaaaay favored the vets over giving the young guys a shot. i forget whether it was patton or ellington at the end of the year last year who flashed some serious skills. he even outran kap on a break away run. these kids can play, let em have some snaps

Quick AND fast. Ellington, Patton, Hayne, Bush, Torrey, Hunter, Simpson, etc. We're going to dink and dunk the crap out of Seattle and then hit 'em over the top on a skinny post!

Nice. With the new additions coupled with young guys like Patton/Ellington getting snaps, the offense just got a whole lot more explosive and dynamic

the return of Vernon Davis would be huge too. hopefully he and Kap can get on the same page this season. having two big redzone targets to account for would be huge

Good call!

So far he's done very well.

I'm hoping he'll pick up 1 or 2 more FA or guys who were cut.

Please let it be Wilfork.

The dysfunction from the top down and injuries played a significant role. The main issue continues to be the play of the QB. The organization tells us they will allow their QB to be outside the pocket and use his legs more. What happens when defenses shut that down, where is he then........................back in the pocket.

No it WAS Fangio and the Defensive Staff that did the Heavy Lifting to 3 NFCC games, the offense got more offensive each yearthe problem was Harbaugh lack of adjustments, lack of Offensive Ability ,lack of willing to Change(stuborness).

Yes.

In addition the perpetual piss poor play calling, getting plays in late, wasting time-outs,

Exactly. Thats where 99.4% of NFL games are won or lost. Period end of story.

Agree.

And on both sides of the ball

Cant wait for the draft

Really?

This is how baalke alwaus does fa and it always works. So yes really. Good cheap signings for depth, one big for a star wr. And we don't over pay. Yet every year ppl b***h. Bet you cried when we lost rodgers and brown. Or franklin, sopoaga? Goldson? All washed up after leaving us.

Trent's success formula

Last year we didn't overpay for Goldon or Whitner.

In FA he got Bethea at an excellent price.

IMO, he isn't done yet and will pick up someone else who has gotten cut or will get cut.

I'm hoping for Wilfork

Ya I'm questioning the direction we are going. We use to be one of the most physical rosters in the League. Now we lost one of the top rushing guards (will be replaced with youngster), rushing tandem will consist of 2 guys that have started a total of 1 game. I don't think we've improved, we have just gone a different direction. I prefer Kaepernick behind a strong rushing attack not fast explosive offense. This just screams 3 & outs and turnovers to me.

All those moves were no brainers. Iupati, Gore and even Crabtree are not. Whitner was replaced on the field but badly missed in the locker room.
