We only added Cook as depth last year, after losing our two starting CBs and that seemed to work out okay.

We're about to lose our two starting CB's again, they need to re-sign Cook.

This seems to happen every year and we remain at top 5-10 defense in the league. Baalke will figure it out, not even worried.

Yah that was with Fangio at DC with Ed Donatell as DB coach.

This will be one of the most interesting things to watch this season, was the past CB success Donatell or Baalke's keen eye for CB talent!
Not worried, those guys we lost weren't that good.

Niners lost both starting corners last year. We are panicking about Culliver who was a starter for ONE season in SF. We are panicking despite the fact that the OTHER corner to start the season is under contract. Cox didn't start the season as a starter...in fact he was the FOURTH corner. Ward is back as well.

Johnson will get a shot at it. Niners will sign someone. A rookie will probably have a shot. So will Acker and Reaser coming off red-shirt seasons.

RELAX.

The NFL league year is a week old. Chill...stuff will get done. Niners just won't be panicked in getting guys they like. Simple as that. This has happened before and it will happen again.
Shawntae Spenser won't ever start!
How can we live without Spenser?

Carlos Rogers? He can't play.
How can we replace Carlos Rogers?

Terrell Brown?
Donte Whitner?
Dashon Goldson?

All irreplacable! The sky is falling!

How many CBs has this team gone through without drafting one in the first round? Shawntae Spenser in 2004! Nope...he was second round.

...and he wasn't even invited to the Combine...and look eerily like Eddie Murphy

He definitely balled out last year, almost makes one forget a year prior when the 'emo reactionary ones' of the zone wanted him gone for his SB fiasco and injury.

Its amazing how much better a person is viewed on the zone the moment he's no longer a Niner.

Truer words never spoken.

Also amazing that no matter how many players the Niners sign who are "bad signings" end up being players that make peeps think the world is falling when we lose.

Drafting AJJ when nobody in the Western Hemisphere ever even heard of the dude.

Based on the way our roster looks right now? Yes.

If you look at the list of free agent CB's, youll find that there isnt really anyone left, and even the best rookie CB get torched in their first season.

Baalke is essentially putting all his eggs in the Jimmie Ward/Dontae Johnson basket.

Sterling Moore, Chris Cook, Rashean Mathis - he was comparable to Culliver last year despite being old. If we're really concerned about the position he can still play.

Rated the 7th best WR in the 2012 draft by CBS...not exactly unknown. My preference was Fleener but then every GM makes mistakes now and then.

I don't understand the no attempt he was imo our best corner last year. And wouldn't demand crazy numbers
