Nobody knew Richard Sherman until he got on the field as a rookie. Point? I'm excited to see the youth get on the field!
Every year peeps fall into the same traps.

Every guy they bring in will be the starter, right? 5 days into free agency and they're done, right? Haven't had the draft yet and they're done, right?

Anyone remember the reactions to signing Cox? How about Cook? Not every player signed will be the starter. Some are just for depth, some are glorified tryouts.

RELAX.

I still think we may resign Cox He has had several visits but not signed. Culliver wanted way more than Balke would pay and I have no problem with that.

Yes usually there are several "Championship" post when we signed those less known guys.

Brock is solid, but Ward and Johnson being the next best 2, coming off their rookie seasons?...yikes.

Our run D is going to get tested only like 7 times a game.

you have come to this conclusion on march 13th? wow. i am impressed

and i am not worried about our offensive line,, having a coach who did not do well last year is a worry but not the players when i look at the kids who were hurt coming back and i thing a gem in the thomas kid who had the acl thing.. i am really excited to see the o line develop. getting the secondary thing squared away is my focus area but i am not worried cuz i know its a marathon and not a sprint and there are alot of things that are in play and still to come

we have a more than good secondary coach and in response to last years d coordinator, he was below average till he came here and is over valued by the zone
I know Baalke has taken hits since Coach Harbaugh left for Michigan. Take a look at Baalke's time as GM, what's the one thing he consistently does year in and year out? He knows how to spot talent in the defensive backfield, especially cornerback. I'm sure he'll find some talent in the later rounds. Yes, later rounds, isn't that what he does?

walt harris was garbage, so was carlos rogers.. guess i should be used to the hypertension by now ,, but this year cuz we have some extra money, its worse cuz some think we need to spend spend spend
Disagree with Balke as far as Free Angency goes. I believe windows do open and close as far as having Super Bowl Caliber rosters and I feel that with a couple moves last year and in 2013, coulda gotten the 49ers over the hump. Meanwhile Balke tells the media/and fan base "we wont spend foolishly". Well here we are day 4 of FA and with Willis/Justin/Cully/iupati on the outs, Balke has Torrey Smith and Dockett to sho for it. Long story short, get on the FKG Ball Balke and start bringing in some Quality bodies already!! 49ers have gotten passed up Talent wise by the Rams/Seacocks/Tardinals.

I am pisssed as i am each free agency with Balke. Bad enough he cannot draft WRs.

I was just over in the FA thread and looking at ALL the names of players who were cut/traded b/c their respective teams flamed out in FA and WAY overpaid. Remember all those teams who "won" in FA?

Helpful perspective right now.

It takes a lot for you to be impressed... I'm impressed with how you're already impressed with him. Darn, this niner99 must be the real deal

Come on dude...you're better than that.

Every. Single. Year we read these posts. Hell, Baalke even spoke about it in Pats retirement press conference.

Baalke is a cool customer. He doesn't panic. He doesn't over pay. He builds in the draft and he supplements through Free Agency. That's why the Niners never find themselves in a huge cap mess and trying to unload a player. That's why they never have guys they signed as FA with bloated contracts.

Whitner. Rogers. Dorsey. Cox. Manningham before he was hurt. Even Ginn as a return man. THIS IS WHAT HE DOES.

Peeps shouldn't be surprised he's not making a big splash. They should be surprised that he spent as much as he did on Torrey Smith. That one says to me that he got sick of speed receivers turning him down.

Relax people. A lot of offseason left. An entire draft to come. Still a number of Free Agents out there, even if RIGHT NOW they don't seem like grat pickups...just like Whitner, Rogers, or Cox did.

Take a pill and just watch. I'd keep an eye on Bush and Bowe. Why? They were released so don't count toward comp pick formula and they'd probably come cheap.

and every year we find someone who helps us in free agency and do not over pay for them. if you do not know how we do free agency after four years, there is no help for you. no need to get replacements for willis, already on the roster, justin may come back, if not we got docket and the draft, cully worth 8 million? no,, and there is plenty of time to take care of the secondary plus we got kids both at wide out and in the secondary who were either hurt last year or never developed by the former regime..... lupatis replacement is on the roster with the good collection of good kids that were hurt last year and are back. you get to shook up by what other teams are doing, you take your eye off your own ball
