Finding a Delanie Walker Type Player | Page 6

I do think we need to find a player similar to Delanie Walker. Dalanie was no superstar in the stat sheet but he was one of the key pieces in the niners attack. He was a big, fast, physical player that could man handle a d-back and get a body on a linebacker. He could also make a play in the pass game when needed and allow Vernon to concentrate on receiving rather than blocking. Imagine a line-up with Boldin, Vernon, "Dalanie-Like" and a big guy with speed to get down the field. With this formation we can spread out the O and still pound the rock with this big physical core. We can also work the play-action to counteract having the box stacked. Might be time to move on from Vance and go get Dalanie's replacement that has been missing the last few years.

I don't know what reports or whatever you've read WRT Millard, but had he not been injured he'd likely have been a 3rd rd or 4th rd pick. He earned All Big-12 honors in 3 straight seasons. He's a jack-of-all-trades player...FB, TE, HB, ST's. Coaches love guys like him because he can do so many things. I'd say he's got a good shot to make the roster.

Its not Tom I have an issue with as a head coach... or the players we have now, its some of the coaches we brought in. I hope Im wrong but the whole Raider coach signing is shaddy...

To be honest, I do wish we would stop drafting injured players, even if we do have a stacked roster.

One of several players I'll be excited to watch this preseason! His video from college shows a guy with excellent body control for his size and, as you say, jack-of-all-trades type skills. His ability to potentially play FB, TE, WR, HB gives the team a lot of flexibiiity for the roster.Hope he makes it totally back! He's a willing blocker so should be able to do most of what Walker use to do.
