I would guess that there's a lot of confidence in Brock, Wright Acker, Reaser and Johnson due to the waiving of Chris Cook - also assuming Ward is in the mix for more CB snaps as well.

No doubt!

If the 49ers do release Aldon, they save $3,255,050, while also not being the hook for possible roster bonus/incentives he could earn.
Glad Trent picked Eli or we'd need immediate help at OLB.

Very smart pick in retrospect! The guy is a magician! So many were upset they didn't pick an ILB in the second or third but it appears OLB may be a bigger need and Harold was a better player than any of the ILBs available.

Thank God!
Well, the good news with the Aldon release is we have $14M in cap space today.

so post Aldon, our OLB depth looks like:

Brooks, Lynch, Lemonier, and Herald.

Still pretty good
backup QB
OLB

Evan Mathis, come on down.
Team needs a better drug/addiction counselor

I kid of course, Aldon did it to himself. As a fan Im bummed/pissed but as a person I really hope he gets some help. Oftentimes people hit a false bottom thinking they've conquered their disease only to relapse and lose everything. He will indeed have to lose everything and is on his way to it if he ever truly wants to get over his problems.

Same here...to the man, he seems like he's still in total denial. And that blows...perhaps some hard time and being able to SEE that he's finally hit rock bottom will save his life. He just left close to $100M on the table...for alcohol...and jail. Let that sink in for a while.

It blows but I'm excited to see a motivated Brooks (slimmed down) at the SAM and esp. excited to see Lynch at the WILL with Harold playing that Skuta role while growing into the position (ala Aldon). If Lemonier or Rush can add anything, that's a bonus. Lemonier already adds to the ST unit.
