You can't pull a guy from another staff for a lateral move if he still has a contract, no chance in hell Philly would approve that.

Would you have any interest in Shurmur or Hue Jackson as the HC? Probably way down the list huh? Wouldn't mind having either of them as OC's but like you said can't just give them a lateral job without permission from the other team. Either as HC... probably not but I'd give Jackson a shot before Shurmur if it came down to it.

isnt jackson a down the field guy which would work well with kap if he could get his accuracy up
We need to keep Harbaugh and he needs to bring in an OC. His brother had no problem getting a new OC and I don't see him having problems changing an OC either.

Might as well
Why do so many want to recycle old HC's? Yes I know Holmgren was pretty good but he's been out of coaching for years. Give a younger guy a chance. I'm a big Pep Hamilton guy. I just hope we can keep Fangio or Tomsula.

Too risky if we go for someone new and unproven. We will have great defense next year. The O just needs some serious tweaking. We can do this with Holmgren.

There are still some good young coaches out there.

I say no to Holmgren. I think we need someone who brings a forward-looking offense. I still think the strongest hand would be Fangio who hires a good offensive OC.

And when that good OC leaves for a HC gig........now what.

Well what's a better combination: Adam Gase and Rex Ryan vs. Vic Fangio and Marc Trestman?
Holmgren is my choice. I think the WCO will always work as long as the players understand what the concept is. And he's younger than Pete Carroll and I don't see him giving it up anytime soon

It's all about re-living the Mike Nolan days after that.

Jim Harbaugh, Vic Fangio and a quality offensive coordinator.

Agree, very interesting combos Geek. Wonder if Ryan would take the job here; I just worry about him and the media. We have enough distractions without bringing his big mouth on board. Would take a lot to make his mouth worth it.
