Nobody speaks higher of the Niners in the media over Gruden. This is his home. I do think he'd be a great fit here and picturing him grilling CK on WCO terminology and precision may be exactly what he needs right now. He's still just as intense as he's ever been. And again, all he has to do is get this offense UP to average (points-wise). That's it. But the potential of the offense would be unlimited. He'd have CK out of the pocket on the move a lot as well...reel in his eyes to the shorter game as well. It would be a QB-friendly offense, no doubt and one that would play to the strengths of CK and our skill positions.
I know there is a lot of opposition to Defensive Head Coaches, but I just read on NFL.com about Dan Quinn. I considered the idea of taking away one of Seattle's biggest assets and bringing him to our own team. What is the zone's thoughts?

Love Chuckie!

BUT - IMO, he won't leave that cushy TV job.

Great pay, plenty of time off, LOW stress, free travel - that's be VERY tough to leave.

Just think how many coaching jobs he and the Chin have been offered since they retired.

TV is probably a better place to be.

No doubt I'd love to have Gruden over Jim Tomsula. Problem is I don't think Baalke is an advocate of the WCO or the Bill Walsh tree, just the sense I get when I heard he wanted Bil Parcells as his HC.

whoever the next head coach is, I definitely want him to be an offensive one.

I really appreciate Baalke's talent as far as the draft and FAcy is concerned but I would hate to think he controls the type of offense the team uses. He has little to recommend him as a coach/offensive mind, including his drafts. He has done great with defense but not offense. Is this all JH? Or JH and Roman? I see Baalke's role in the offensive woes as well.

Would rather have Holmgren to Gruden but either would be preferable to Parcells for me.

Why would anyone want Gruden? He had 2 10+ win seasons and 3 under .500 seasons (57-55 overall) in 7 years in Tampa. He has shown over his entire career the inability to develop a young QB. Chris Simms was out of the league by age 29, Rich Gannon and Brad Johnson were both 34 there first year with Gruden and Jeff Garcia was 38. So you would want him to be the one to work with Kap?

I want a new coach that literally wants to smash cheatey petey and the cawks into the ground.

Harbaugh / Carroll screw these "stud" muffins

This I agree with. Gruden won the Superbowl with Dungy's roster, and then spent the remainder of his time going through quarterbacks in a Ken Whisenhunt fashion. His overall record was lousy, something like 45-53. I've always thought he was incredibly overrated.

NO....not just no, HELL NO. Horrible head coach. Three time loser as a head coach, no thanks.

True dat! If Harbs doesn't come back, I'm guessing Gruden and/or Holmgren were thought of and (possibly) already contacted for a chat.

It sure would be another show with Gruden. First Dingleberry with his "take a look at tape / go take a shower" and drop my panties, to Harbs and his sideline antics, then Chucky with all his facial expressions (AND that frikken visor hat)

Gruden and Holmgren are media darlings and would be loved. Officials would kiss up to them. Our defense would keep us in games and the refs would do the rest.

Worked for Cheatey Petey and the Cawks.

Maybe Gary Kubiak needs to be looked at. Any coach who can get Flacco to complete over 60% of his passes (a career high 64%) for the first time in 3 years must be doing something right. He also has Baltimore with its highest offensive rank of the Harbaugh era.

you guys keep going over the same names....isn't there a fresh face out there?

I like your idea very much. Always appreciated this great offensive mind. I would applaud this move
