Ok dude, you're a lot wiser than I am then because I would take any of those guys over Kilgore, despite his performance for first half of the season.

Question still stands though, why hasn't Kaep improved at all? I expect the default answer to be coaching right now, and I guess we'll find out next season.

I also expect to see much of the same once the coaching has changed, hopefully our new coach drops his f*cking pants, at least that's entertaining.

If you've posted here a while you should know there's a group of people who blame Kaps regression on all the players and coaches around him. If they even admit he has regressed. It's a circus. Lots of bad blood. Would probably be some violence if we were all in the same room. LOL.

Sweep the leg Johnny. Kobra Kia type stuff. Its a friggin verbal karate tournament around here. Young Danielson isn't doing so well, and Mr Myiagi is getting all the blame. Time to wax on wax off in the offseason. Gonna go get my wax on wax off right now.

See ya!

I'm fine with the back and forth, and if that's what they really believe then I'm all for it. In 2012 I thought Kaep was the greatest thing since sliced bread, I thought once he got some reps under him he'd be the most dangerous QB in the NFL...that hasn't happened. What has happened is that the coaching staff, who has taken this team to three straight NFC Championships, is now the "problem" because they're on their way out. That's ignoring the issue all together, that's hoping that the offense will take off next year, or that the Defense will suddenly start holding teams to 13 PPG again, and that's exactly what I heard a lot of this past offseason.

There is no reason to be happy about this season or excited about the next. Every other team has figured out our QB, and our game plan, and I expect to see more of the same. The problem is that when some one posts on this site everyone looks at the post count. They think because they have a higher post count that they are better or more knowledgable fans...which sometimes proves to be the exact opposite. I know one thing, I've been watching the Niners since late 1987 and I've always supported them...and that will never change.

Go Niners!!

28 points is 28 points and Kap had just as many rushing yards as Frank. But I acknowledge Kap needs work. This offense as a whole

Pill, I go to sleep at night praying that Kaep will find it. I thought last year that he would take a giant leap...didn't happen. I thought this year was it but to me it seems he's regressed. People blaming the coaches the Defense, everyone except the guy that has been given all the weapons any QB would need. He's got Frank, Anquan, Crabtree, VD, throw in a little Stevie johnson and Brandon lloyd for good measure. Why can't he find them? Is it the oline? The protection looked good tonight, why couldn't he hit anyone? The mobility is supposed to give time to the receivers to create separation...what's been the problem all year?
Just who the hell are you listening to? Go listen to KNBR and the Better Rival guys. To hear them say it it's all Kaps fault all day. Most fans comments I've read on here have been anti-Kaep, and blame Kaep to no end. You must be one of those fans who think that scheme is just incidental to wins and losses. JH and Roman changed the scheme from game one of this season to a scheme that never fit Kaep's nor the O-line's skill-set. In fact this scheme exposes the weaknesses of both. A team with all kinds of offensive weapons cannot be ranked 28th in the league without the scheme being a serious culprit.

All year JH & Roman refused to coach to the team's strength, except for the first half of this game. We have a WR corp that has problems getting open, yet JH & Roman call plays that call for the WR's to get open. Kaep clearly has issues with playing from the pocket, but JH &Roman call 5 & 7 step drop plays. Pass blocking has always been a weakness for our O-line, yet the cheme and plays called that exposes that weakness time and time again. But it's all Kaeps fault.

Now, if Kaep's not the guy then I question why he was drafted in the first place. If they wanted a pocket passer they should have drafted one. So in that case I still blame the coaches because all of the flaws that many fans and commentators love pointing out are the very same flaws that every scout had on him coming out of Nevada. But then they tried to change him into something he clearly isn't AFTER having major success in a scheme in which Kaep was comfortable. For me that is a glaring coaching mistake that the QB cannot control.

I don't care if you like me blaming Kaep or not. He was drafted because we needed a new QB and andy dalton and blaine gabbert were already taken

Keep blaming the scheme, maybe next year we'll have a coach that lets him run around like mike vick or geno smith, maybe then I won't have to watch him for much longer.

That the whole problem was Myiagi's tutelage and not the pupil. You can only rely on the Crain Kick so much. Maybe Myagi could have very well taught better karate, or maybe Danielson is just too much like Ralph Maccio? Perhaps we do need a sense John Kreese? Too
Much fear in this dojo.

Andy Dalton and Blaine Gabbert? Dear lord

Well Vick nor Geno didn't get to 3 straight NFC title games and a SB doing what he does. And if the QB that we needed for JH and Roman to run the scheme that they ultimately wanted to run then they shouldn't have taken him in the first place. Why draft a guy that can't run your system? Oh, that's right, we needed a QB. So I disagree with you, and I don't expect you to agree with me. Because from where I sit it seemed to me that JH & Roman were pretty schizophrenic with scheme and playcalling all season. But I don't expect you to see that. All you see is the man driving the car. You don't see the guys who built the car in the first place and giving directions to the driver.
So I missed this game but I heard it on the radio and was 21-0 when I turned it off. How the f**k did we lose? lol this is just funny at this point

no passing offense, so SD just loaded the box and shut down our offense after halftime except for Kap's random lucky 90 yd td

secondary fell apart after Reid got hurt and Dahl had to play...also, no pass rush, at one point Rivers threw like 25 straight times because why not? couldn't get to him and couldn't cover
The 49ers were out of the play off last week, wtf are u guys arguing about now? Does it matter if we lose? I thought losing this game was gonna put them in a better draft position, C'mon man

So in your scenerio Kaep is driving the car. And Harbaugh and Roman are the builders and GPS. This is the same car that drove us to the NFC championship game. And in the offseason this car got major upgrades at WR/cold air intake, and back up RB/wheels. So at what point do you stop blaming the builder and GPS for the car being driven s**tty? At what point do you just say, well the driver was bad?...

It's not all Kaeps fault, but when you look at me and tell me he hasn't scored a TD in the 4th quarter or OT all season, yet everyone else has... Even the back up... You can't tell me he's blame less

How did Jerod-Eddie play at LDE?
I'm still waiting on the explanation on how scheme changed in this particular game, late in the game. We were running the ball a ton With Gore all game, and kept running it it late, rightfully so. Most of Kaps yards came from not designated runs but broken pass plays there were lanes for. That didn't change. We barely tried any deep balls- I think there were two max-all game.

Majority of the game we ran the ball out of power formations and passes it to move the chains. That was true for the entire game.

So please enlighten me how the scheme changed midgame or in the fourth quarter.

It didn't change, and there-in lies one of the many problems we have. This team is unable to make adjustments mid-game. The initial gameplan is fine, but gets picked apart as the game goes on. We've seen it time and time again. We come out looking solid in the 1st half, other team adjusts, and we're f**ked. Indicative of a coaching staff that is losing the chess game. Bill Walsh always talked about being a step ahead. Predict how your opponents will react to what you're doing, and then go for the kill. It's about manipulating the opponent.

San Diego made their adjustments. They shut down our running game in the 2nd half, and they were all over the play-action fakes that were so effective in the 1st half. We had no answer for it. This season whether we go power run, or spread, it didn't matter. We simply cannot respond with a counter to the other team's adjustments.

Check out our scoring by quarter, followed by the league rank:

1st quarter -- 5.7 (t-5th)
2nd quarter --7.7 (9th)
3rd quarter -- 3.3 (26th)
4th quarter -- 2.2 (32nd)

We get progressively worse as the games go on. Averaging 13.4 points in the 1st half, which is awesome. Followed by 5.5 points in the second half, which is laughably awful. We're getting outcoached and outplayed in the second half of ballgames, plain and simple.

This. People talking about schemes changing and what not don't get it. They think that if the offense isn't working, that the coaching staff must have changed something but in reality, it was the defense that made adjustments. Those same plays that Gore was gashing the Chargers with in the first half, weren't available any longer. They went from 10 yard runs to 2 yard runs because the Chargers dropped their LB's and safeties down closer to the line of scrimmage. With as predictable as this offense is, it allows for defenses to get a big jump on whatever the play call is, either they are sending guys to attack the run or to go after the QB.

This is just another game which proves that this coaching staff sucks at making adjustments when the other team adapts to what they are doing.

No argument there, I agree with most of this. This was a question to the guy who said we had a good scheme early on in the game but then fell back to usual ba schemes.

Patented "prevent offense" engaged. Run Gore up the middle into a loaded box, bring on 2nd and long...3rd and long......rinse and repeat.....throw in some potato turnovers by the offense and that pretty much explains it all.
