I suggest using stacked receivers. A VD, Boldin and B. Miller group would be a way to break the press coverage and punish the CBs with hard blocks.

bunch with crabs, boldin and vd would work too since all of them are big and faster than miller would be

i know there was a debate the other day about sherman hitting that saints wr out of the back of the endzone and whether it was a legit penalty or not. well he got fined almost 8 grand for it.

There wasn't a debate. I was just asking if he did it before the ball was thrown and while Brees was out of the pocket. If those 2 factors were true, then the contact is legal, the unnecessary force was illegal.

seemed like a debate. you didnt really ask anything, your 1st few words on your post were 'this isnt a penalty'

if what? it was 'this isnt a penalty' followed by a period, not an if. doesnt matter anyways, i knew there was some thought of maybe it not being a penalty and just following up saying he got fined.

Not even close to their defense. But the good thing is that our defense can fluster Wilson...it's the Lynch part of that equation that gets us.

Not even close? That's a bit of an overstatement. Seattle is currently #1 and SF is #4 in total defense. Seattle is #2 in points per game at 15.5, but SF is #3 at 16.4. Seattle is #1 against the pass, but SF is #3. Seattle is #13 against the rush and SF is #11.

There's less than 1 point difference in their points per game. I'd say that means that the two defenses are very close.

This. Seattle has a great D but to say the 49er defense isn't even close is comically wrong. I'll venture to say we haven't seen the niner D play it's best ball yet either. The saints game just may have been a blessing in disguise because the D has been playing out of their minds since then.

Whether they are ranked 1st, 2nd or 3rd when the 49er defense is playing to it's potential, there isn't an offense in the NFL they can't handle. Wish I had the same confidence in the offense lol.

Saints don't have Lynch. Lynch hurts us bigtime. 3rd 2, may as well give it to them.

Defense stats are also effected by how the offense is playing. Seattle's offense has helped out it's defense more than the SF's offense has helped its defense . . . with the offenses many many three-and-outs. Call me homer, but I like the Niners defense better . . . especially the front seven. (I also prefer the character of the Niners players, even it doesn't necessarily impact their play.)

It also continues to surprise me that Seattle's dbs, especially Sherman, doesn't get called for sticking his arm out and impeding the WR as he is running downfield. I'm sure that it has been pointed out. Must be legal.

I honestly didn't think it was IF Brees was out of the pocket. My first sentence, this isn't a penalty was just my first comment in thinking that Brees was out of the pocket and the ball was not in the air.

A fine doesn't always mean the contact was excessive. To me, I can see that it was a cheapshot but IF the QB was out of the pocket with ball in hand, then it's fair game.

Tell Amhad Brooks about how great the NFL fine system is.

What does that have to do with me disagreeing with your assessment that, the Niner D is not even close to the seahawks D?
You have to remember Seattle does not play as well on the road and at Candlestick

It's been very clear, our defense has been downright dominant over the past few weeks. I think we're playing at our highest level since 2011. Seahawks are a great defense, especially at home where they feed of the crowd energy. I give our defense at home the advantage. Our offense on the other hand, is the big question mark. I think it boils down to our Oline VS their Dline. Winner of that battle wins the game.

With Staley possibly playing but not 100% and Iaputi out....its going to be tough. Here is my concern. Because the defenses are similar its going to be the offense that wins the game. Which QB will make enough plays? Wilson has proven he can do it against playoff teams. Kaep has yet to prove he can do that. For me that is the deciding factor.

SEA Average Time Per Drive: 2:45
SF Average Time Per Drive: 2:30

Based on SF's scoring totals (and point differential alone), I'm not sure how much I would buy into that particular argument. Based on average time of possession per drive, it would seem that they've strung a few 1st downs together.

We have to contain the midget. We can't let him run all over the place and hope to win.

I mean in terms of matchups. It's all about matchups. Their defense matches up much better vs our offense as compared to our defense matching up with their offense.

They already have shown they can stop Gore for the last two game AND stop our passing. We have only showed we can fluster Wilson. Lynch has had our number the last two games.
Harvin won't play. Not that it matters because Seadderal has played w/o him pretty much all season, but how do you think his potentially wasted salary may affect Seacawks ability to sign other cornerstone players i.e. Wilson, Sherman, Thomas, Lynch, Okung, Tate for the longterm future.
