Alex. Mediocrity, 2011 was our peak.
Yes, because 32 TD/8 INT, 17-7 record, 92.6 qb rating in last 24 starts is mediocre

We are only going to need a qb for 2-3 years while harbaugh grooms kap. I think manning would be a great short term answer for esp since it makes us a super bowl contender asap

we already have an Alex Smith thread. Why can't people just respond to these polls and not quote others
No need to argue in here. I think Alex is mediocre, you don't, big deal.

what r we even doing in the manning race? we dont have the cap space to sign him, I dont think. I may be wrong but manning will command at the very least low or mid 20s. We would have to restructure contracts and cut some people. wheres AB when you need him? id like to get his intake on our cap space situation if we sign manning

IF Manning is healthy and the Doc doesn't have serious worries about his ability to play and take hits, AND his cap hit doesn't exceed 18 million in any given year then Peyton.
Smith is not a mediocore, he's a very good QB. He hasn't put up a lot of TDs in any given year but that's been as much a product of the systems and the other players on offense. When he's ben asked to turn it loose he's looked great and could have been a guy who puts up 30+ TDs.
Either way I'm ok.

I'm not sold on CK nor any athletic QB who ran a pistol offense. I think Tolzien has a better shot than CK honestly.

Totally depends on the $
If we do sign him, I see us trading the 1st for Wallace. He'd be a great teacher for Kap & Tolzien.

some of you Alex Smith supporters still can't get it past yourself.
if Peyton Manning is healthy and ready to go, you cannot in your right mind take Smith over Manning

Dude we have 19 million this year I say give him 12mill in 20112, 15 mill in 2013, 25 mill in 2014 when the new contracts with the tv netwroks supposeably come into effect. Thats 42 million over three years all garuanteed. On average to what Den is paying over five. And he would be garuanteeing himself a better team.
