From what i have seen of ginn, i would be amazed if he got released. Just too valuable on those punts. Paired with andy lee he is worth 20+ yrds on each punt exchange and altho i don't know what that translates into $$ wise, 20 yrds is worth a lot of money, esp, if done 4 or 5 times a game. Those two gave us a start on the 35 yd line more times than i can remember. It was like we were playing on a 65 yd field and opponents were playing on a 100 yd field. Ginn stays.

I don't want to see Ginn go ANYWHERE. How valuable is Ginn? If Ginn doesn't get injured and miss the NFC Championship Game, 49ers are likely holding up a 6th Super Bowl trophy right now. I really don't see you can replace him, there's lot of guys out of college who were great kick returners in college but it doesn't often translate to the pro game. Ginn is a constant threat when returning kicks or punts and a valuable member of the special teams.
yeah, Phoenix, and his WR capabilites, which aren't all that great don't bother me now after the NYG conf game. Man, can you just imagine....
It is a point tho, that i raised earlier and that is will Coach and GM get us a WR who would be a very capable replacement in case of Ginn injury. Actually, after some thot, I posted that what Coach learned out of that game, was on PR, put our best hands guy back there and just have him fair catch or let ball go into End zone. Had we done that ...we win. Ahh, no point in dwelling on that because IF my aunt had balz she'd be my uncle. I do think NYG learned on us in the rain, and just had their guys fair catch punts, and they all had good hands.
Out of all the FAs receivers the only one I would consider is Vincint Jackson, then draft Fleenor with our first pick.

Pierre Garcon. 900+ yards playing with a s**tty quarterback? Sign me up! He's fast enough to be a reasonable deep threat and help further stretch the defense out, he's very young(25) and will be more affordable than some of the bigger names out there.

Yes I am aware or Garcon, when I went through all the receivers I couldnt decide between Jackson or Garcon. I would be very happy with either one.
would you give a guy 5 yrs and top wr money to a guy thats 30?

In the NO offense he is often the possession guy, not the deep threat. Morgan was just developing into that guy when he was injured. I fully expect him to come back at 100%. The fracture he had is not one that is ever problematic later on. From all I have read it was a simple fracture and has fully healed. Consequently, paying a lot of money for Colston is to only get a small upgrade over Morgan, and maybe on that is not all that healthy either.

Colston is a bigger target though at 6'5. He's the red zone entity that we were missing last year. My problem with Colston is I just don't value him at 50 mil and we already know he's going to the highest bidder.

Draft Fleener in the first round, now you've got a 6'6" target in the red-zone and you save about 6-7 million per year.

for an unproven guy though

we are already strong at TE TE is a luxury pick at this point (VD may be the best playmaker TE in nfl- if only worked on his hands)

we need a guy to take attention of him and a #3 TE hell even a #2 TE may not do the job as efficiently as a #1 WR
you don't let Ginn walk after we watched Williams go full retard

Why? Ginn isnt the only return man capable of successfully not muffing punts in the NFL.

Yeah but he's one of the best at it. You don't just toss a guy like, who's already on your team and hope and pray that the next guy doesn't f**k up.
You dont have to hope and pray, return specialists arent hard to find. Special ones like Ginn may be, but one who simply wont f**k up isnt. I blame the coaching staff more than Williams. Bad form to not have a dependable backup who you trust in that situation, even if you have to order him to abandon any attempt at a positive return and simply secure the ball.
Sign a free agent wR any of the top 5 . Draft te at number 1. Cb or lb depends who we lose in fa at 2. Draft a guard at number 3, draft a wr/kr at 4. DL at 5. Cb at 6
