Lunacy? Haha, no... I think not. The 49ers new regime has shown that they prize freak potential over taking the safe bets. After Streeter gets done with the NFL Combine, he will soar up draft boards. At an easy 6' 4" and 215 lbs, Streeter opens some eyes with his 4.4 speed and deep threat abilities. We could be talking "the next Randy Moss" here, only Streeter has a rather shy and mature team-first disposition. The Niners want a huge target at WR to develop, and can take Streeter's development at as careful a pace as need be. This kid will draw extra coverage... give opposing coordinators headaches, and open up the field for our other weapons. He can also block well, and that's a must in SF's offense.
Welcome to the WC, Tommy... now let's go get ring #6.
But do the Niners have enough cap space to match his current salary at Miami?

If Edwards plays he has to be aggressive with his game. If he can't, or won't, then let him sit and get someone else in that will play hard. I don't even care if they aren't successful as long as they play hard. I have not gotten the impression that Edwards is playing hard, agressive, and he has not been helpful to the team. Get him on the bench and get Swain in there, anyone who will try with all that they have. But I want WRs that will go and catch the ball, not wait for it to come to them, and then drop it. That I can not stand. If you are going to be out there play like you want to be there or get off the field. So I will take Crabs, Williams, Ginn, Swain over Edwards at this time.

Very hard to say compared to some others. If he does run a sub 4.5 and look good at the Combine, he could end up a 1st rounder. So really, he could go anywhere from late 1st to 4th round, I'd say. People will knock the production, but the size and speed should make him very hard to pass on in the early rounds.

He can't run. He can't catch. He's always injured. His blocking is mediocre at best. And "we need to use him?"....

I think Edwards is not happy playing for the niners ,he may say that his goal is to contribute to the team, but they also want to shine individually as WR putting some yards, and TDs and my beloved team lacks of a passing playbook, the most yards he can get is 6 or 7 on a quick slant, cause our O line can`t hold more than 4 seconds..just my thought...

So when we make it to the superbowl he's going to catch two TDs and lead us to a win

Um, yep. This nails it just about dead on. I'd add that he can't win a single route even when singled up against the opponent's 2nd CB, and plays like a guy a foot shorter and forty pounds lighter than what he's listed. Opposing defensive coordinators across the league wholeheartedly endorse the "more Braylon" movement.
Modest suggestion to the OP: stop watching youtube highlight clips and start watching Braylon in the actual games, and see if your opinion doesn't change.
