They made it to 3 Super Bowls but the coaches blew the chances every time with awful decisions.

Jed York should have at least 2 rings by now and from 2017 to 2025 he has been just signing checks and giving extensions because Shanahan and Lynch wanted.

Jimmy Garoppolo...often injured.
Dee Ford....Andy Reid traded him after his best season which should have been a warning that he was damaged goods.
Trading DeForest Buckner to keep Arik Armstead
The Trey Lance trade without knowing who the hell they were going to draft.
Giving up on Lance after 4 starts.
Not caring about the O-line year after year.
Blowing 2 Super Bowls when we had the better team both times.
Brandon Aiyuk's s**tshow.
Extending the 20th best QB of the league that can't stay healthy and that last year started to show his limitations to a top 7 contract when they had one more year to decide.

Jed York accepted all that crap because he wanted to win a ring above everything else and Shanahan/Lynch couldn't do it.

From 2017 to 2024 at least Shanahan was the most pampered HC of the league. Not even Andy Reid had that support from the owner.

Now Jed York has said "enough" (I hope) and he is totally right about it.

You're hoping for what exactly?
Nobody "stole" the team from Eddie. He screwed up and lost the team.

He could've had the team back after serving his suspension, but choose to let his sister keep it while he inherited the family business

Making it and winning it are two different things

We've lost 3 superbowls since the yorks took control...vs the 5 we won over 15 years with Eddy and a Dynasty he created. Honest truth we are now the Buffalo Bills of the 90s with our three losses and an ownership group that has since shown it's real interests now lay in soccer overseas.
I don't know what Jed could have done better?
Maybe he could have demanded better scouting and drafting, because bad drafting is the main reason they haven't won
He is the one that stuck with these 2 CLOWNS and will continue to stick with them. Because he believes you could never have anybody but Shany/Lynch.

Injuries is the #1 reason they haven't won a SB, IMO. Drafting has been above average from a league wide standpoint. Really, only Philly, KC and LA Rams have truly topped them in the draft over this period. That still puts the vast majority of the league below them.
Reading between the lines from Kyle's presser today, Ownership/Paraag is the #1 reason why the guaranteed money was voided.

they found the first chance to take it and they did.

Hes penny pinching. He's not interested in fielding a top level team anymore

I don't think it's that Jed doesn't want to field a top level team anymore. They just gave Purdy a massive deal. The team spent a s**t ton of money in the last few years between BA, Hargrave, etc, and it didn't end well. The amount of dead money the 49ers have had is f**king insane.

Besides, all of this was already covered last offseason by Mike Silver and Tim Kawakami. The Yorks want to recoup that money, clear the books, focus on building through the draft, and be extremely prudent about the contracts they give out.

They also extended Williams, Kittle, Warner, etc. and there's been zero negative about those deals from the front office or ownership since those deals were signed.

Aiyuk's contract is the anomaly. I'd wager there's very specific, not general, reasons for that.
He has given the front office the freedom to do anything they want. That is what an owner is supposed to do. I don't hold him accountable for blowing SB's, trading Buckner, trading three first rounders to draft a bust, Samuel & B.A. signings, constant injuries.

Right. He also doesn't get credit for bringing in all-pro guys (Williams, Kittle, McCaffrey, Warner, Bosa, etc.) or for winning the playoff games, and so on.

The more York signs the checks and stays a neutral party the more he's not due credit or blame for anything else.

If the drafting was so bad, why did three guys get poached out of the Shanahan/Lynch player personnel department by other teams?

I recall the news conference Jed held a couple of years ago when he related how Kyle came to him and told him that despite all the money and hoopla given to the QB room, the best QB was the 3rd string guy (Brock Purdy). Jed went on to say that was not the kind of news an owner wants to hear but he trusted his guys.

Perhaps that background had something to do with the move to more prudent contract management and spending.

At some point, it is worth the owner calling an employee meeting to deal with some things that need changing. It is for the best of the organization that everyone face an accountability check now and then.
