Only way Jed can f**k this up is to go up to Kyle and tell him to run more RPO in the redzone.

Jed deserves respect. I said it when he hired/fired Harbaugh. I'll say it again with Shanny and Lynch. He had a plan in place when all of you doubted him.

Please stop with the same ol' comments "Yea Jed, just stay out of the way and we're good"

When was he ever in the way? I DEMAND RESPECT FOR JED.

I can't tell if you are serious or sarcastic.

No, I'm being serious. Not a Jed fan boy it just bugs me honestly. I've supported him since his parents handed the franchise over to him right before he made Singletary an official hire. I love this team and the ownership. It just makes me sick reading all the negativity towards our ownership specifically Jed when none of what gets reported is true.

What happened to all of the Fire Jed blimps or Sell the team banners flying over Levis? Everyones quiet now huh
So Jeds' Mommy is a WZ member, cool! Hi Mom

He deserved it then. He's redeemed himself now, so what's up?

I will be the first to recognize that much of the criticism of Jed has been overblown.

That having been said, Jed was in way over his head when Harbaugh was fired. He desperately needed a sound football guy running the operation then because it became clear very quickly Jed had no plan.
The Curse of JED is Now Broken

Exhibit #1 - We have absorbed the injuries to starters and persevered. Our usual rash of injuries has happened this year, but we have been able to utilize the 'next man up' to overcome it. In the past, if we lost this many starters our season would have normally taken a serious blow.

These are all assumptions. Like I said, none of us knew what was really going on within that building. Whether the leaks were coming from Trent or Jim it doesn't matter. Of course we were all upset when Harbaugh got fired just because of the success he had in his short time but we weren't looking at the bigger picture and what was really going on inside the building. People were very emotional about it and continuously insulted Jed. He clearly DID have a plan as you can see our foundation is set and our team has the right leadership for years to come.

Looking back, we are positioned much better than in the past. Harbaugh was never going to be here long-term and he had never been with a team for longer than 4 years. I do agree with you that the criticisms were way overblown. I am happy he is our owner. No one cares more about the team than Jed.

Let's keep this conversation about Jed and the football team, not other posters.

Thank you.

Harbs to Tomsula was a heck of a plan.

Fingers crossed he won't screw this one up.

I have neither the time nor the interest in discussing what Jed knew and when, however, the years between Harbaugh and Lynch/Shanahan were some of the darkest years of this franchise. The Tomsula hiring alone proved Jed had no idea how to put the ship back on course.

I will give him credit for recognizing Kyle's ability and bringing in Lynch. That shows he now knows what it takes.
I criticize him mostly because he didn't have a plan in place post-Harbaugh. And I blame him for giving the keys to the franchise to Baalke, who was not qualified to be a GM who can work well with coaches.

And he thought Jim Tomsula was a good head coach. I remember Jed comparing Tomsula to Steve Kerr in an interview (lol).

Chip Kelly was a good hire....in theory......if you gave him the players to run his offense. But even if Chip had great players at every position, I still think his ceiling in the NFL would be limited. His college offense was played out and the NFL figured him out already. Jed York and Baalke didn't do enough research as to why Chip flamed out in Philly. And now you can see that even UCLA is getting tired of Chip Kelly's shtick. He will probably get fired soon.

I will give credit where credit is due. Jed scored a home run with Lynch and Shanahan. But it has taken 3-4 years of misery to get to this point.
Well this thread got interesting quickly. From what I had read some time ago (can't remember the beat writers comment now) but it sounded like it was actually Denise York who pushed for the Shanny/Lynch hiring. In any case, things are going well now, and credit to whoever the powers that be were who decided on a 6 year contract for both guys giving them time to rebuild without the additional pressure. That being said, there are obviously no worries this year, but what happens after we have some success followed by our first average to poor year? It was clear that Baalke was the one who should have been fired and not Harbaugh. The man had some incredible years and one 8-8 season and he's gone, which was ridiculous as he was clearly an excellent coach. Quirky? Yes, but learn to deal with those challenges behind the scenes. Meanwhile Baalke (Mr. Draft guys due to their arm length) got to keep his job. If you want to go farther back even the Great Eddie made a mistake by firing Seifert, basically because he didn't go to the SB every year. Does anyone remember that he never finished BELOW 10-6 in a season? He was fired after going 12-4 and being eliminated in the playoffs by GB.

As much as the Steelers irritate me, I admire their ownership. Did you know that since 1969 they have only had three head coaches? Noll, Cowher, and Tomlin... In the modern NFL That is insane. I just hope and pray that Shannahan and Lynch are retained beyond the first bad year or two post-turnaround. Those guys have a clear vision and it is working. I don't want to hear 'rumors' that somehow the two aren't getting along as an excuse to fire one or the other when that happens.

Much as it did with Eddie D.
People seem to forget that Jim Harbaugh was a complete dick to work with. You can't disrespect your boss in front of the entire organization and expect to retain your job. That won't work anywhere, no matter how successful you are. Harbaugh burns everyone out wherever he goes. While York would probably admit his faith and trust in Baalke was his downfall, I still don't understand why Harbaugh is absolved of any responsibility for the downfall of the Niners.

Thank you! People freakin worship Harbaugh here and don't understand he treated these grown men like College kids.

Harbaugh was a stain on this franchise. Never forget we lost our one and only superbowl because he fell in love with Kap. All we had to do is freakin run in it with Gore.

I will never forgive Harbaugh or Greg Roman for our superbowl loss.

I see others are chiming in and talking about Denise bringing in Kyle! Lmao what the hell does she know -- stop trying to discredit Jed it is getting ridiculous guys. Jed had a relationship with Mike and Kyle before all of this. I know it's hard for some to accept but we have A GREAT OWNER WHO JUST WANTS TO WIN.
