Ya know how on every play Alex is reading off of his wristband before relaying the call to the team? Andrew Luck did the same thing. The reason for this is that the word terminology for Harbaugh/Romans WCO is very complex so it takes a long time to relay the information over the Mic in Smiths Helmet. To save time, they have an abreviation code. Harbaugh gives Alex the shortened code and he looks up the actual terminology on the wristband before relaying it to the team. Pretty Cool.

2) I rewatched the Eagles game AGAIN yesterday and something seemed really odd about the game and I couldn't put my finger on it. It wasn't until yesterday that I figured it out. When the 49ers were making their comeback, the thing that seemed odd was the SILENCE from the Philly crowd. No cheering. No Booing. Just stunned SILENCE. I freakin' love it.

i was at the game, at first during the comeback the crowd seemed to not even care because they assumed they would still win. then it was utter shock, i kept hearing is this Alex Smith ripping our secondary apart? OMG they are running the ball here, we cant stop it, ppl's faces just in their hands sulking in utter shock. it was great.

I like how Jim Harbaugh is part of the offense. Look at the playlist in his right hand... That's the difference between last year and this year.

Harbaugh may have had a playlist in his hands during the game but Sing had a freshly torn out heart of a cute animal that got in his way before the game. Obviously, it didn't help Sing out.

1. Last year we started 0-5... two years ago we didn't travel to the east coast and win two consecutive road games.

2. Indeed.

Thats not true -- in the first couple of games of this year they did have issues getting the play in on time -- called several timeouts and had a few delay of games. But they got that corrected in short order with this coaching staff.

1. What does that have to do with anything? I was just pointing out that it was nothing new

I think you may be wrong. We may have used a t.o. here and there, but I don't recall us having one dead ball foul all season.

There is a reason for this and it has been written about in the media. It is coming down from Roman to Harbaugh and Alex. Harbaugh is in Alex's ear about each play. what to look for and what to watch for etc. or if he wants to change the call, since the headset gets cutoff at the 15 second mark on the playclockthey have to do it this way. Not to mention all the noise fans make.

1. Calls were relayed the same way last year. instead of codes they used a number. Alex would look at the number on his wristband and call that play

I remember several instances in the first couple of games where Smith was signalling to get the play called. In one case, Harbaugh was infuriated with a call by the officials and the play was late getting in. Can't remember if that caused a TO or a penalty.

Most of the time I'm with ya Val, but this is different.

Yes, they used a wristband last year when they were having so much trouble getting the calls in on time. However, the difference last year was that the OCs wouldn't call the play until it was too late. The number system is in itself shorter. You call 357 and the recievers know that one guy runs a 3 route, another runs a 5 route, and another runs a 7 route.

In the WCO offense it will be like "Razor". Granted, neither of these is even close to the complete call. The point is that in the WCO, the call will be much longer because it uses words instead of numbers. The code Harbaugh relays is an abbreviation of those words for Alex to translate.

Most of all, this WORKS. LOL! Thats the difference from last year.
