I don't recall Alex reading play calls off his wristband last year with the same frequency as he's doing this year.

There ya go....Luck still wearing it. So is the Center. Also note the same plant leg knee brace Harbaugh has Smith and Kaep wearing.

When the 49ers were making their comeback, the thing that seemed odd was the SILENCE from the Philly crowd. No cheering. No Booing. Just stunned SILENCE. I freakin' love it.
I also watched the game AGAIN yesterday. Some random things I noticed...
Bruce Miller had a big first down reception (I think it was in the 3rd), but he actually stepped out of bounds well before the first down marker and NOBODY saw it. Can't believe the commentators didn't notice it and neither did the Eagles...
Justin Smith was a bit lucky on the strip of Maclin. Maclin stumbles a bit after catching the ball on the WR screen and this gave Smith just enough time to catch up to him. If Maclin doesn't stumble, I'm not convinced Smith catches him...
For me, probably the most impressive play I saw from Alex actually came in the 1st quarter. It was pretty innocuous considering how bad the offense was at that point, but there was a play where Alex wanted to throw the quick slant to Crabtree but saw the Eagles jumped the route. Alex turned, not just his head, but his whole body, toward his 2nd and 3rd reads before settling for Walker on a short reception. Wasn't a huge play, but I saw some poise from Alex when his first read was taken away and thought "Wow, did Alex just go through a pass progression?" Lol. Hopefully, we'll see more of this kind of play from him this year...
I noticed the Miller thing too...but I noticed it LIVE. I kept expecting the Eagles to challenge, but they never did. Also look at how he is holding the ball. LOL!! He needs some refinement at the FB position.

lol.
Here's a pic of Alex in last season's opener up in Seattle. No play wristband (?)
IIRC, didn't Alex start wearing the wristband as a backup method of getting playcalls in, after those playcall issues that were dogging the offense in the first part of the season?

maybe it happened after Raye was fired? i choose to forget everything about last season.

either way it's pretty clear to see why Harbaugh is the effing man.

Yes, most of us recall that, BUT can you confirm that Alex (starting with the KC game) would specifically read off plays in the huddle via his wristband (like he's doing this year)? I don't recall him doing that as part of the playcalling routine last year.

Why else would he have a wristband if he wasnt using it to call plays in the huddle? That doesnt even make sense
