"MaioccoCSN: Fully expect 49ers to add a veteran QB in next few days. They can't enter season with Alex Smith and Colin Kaepernick."

My final lineup prediction:

QB: Alex Smith, [veteran waiver player], Kaepernick

RB: Gore, Hunter, Dixon, (PS: Omon)
FB: Norris, Miller (Miller could overtake Norris by mid-season)

WR: Edwards, Ginn (This obviously depends on Edwards's possible suspension)
WR: Crabtree, Morgan (This obviously depends on Crabtree's injury), Kyle Williams, (PS: Johnson)
TE: Vernon Davis, Walker, Reuland

LT: Staley, [veteran waiver player]
LG: Iupati, Snyder
C: Goodwin, Snyder (Snyder's versatility as a backup makes Wragge replaceable)
RG: Anthony Davis, Kilgore (This is more wishful thinking on my part, but I want Rachal gone)
RT: Boone, Person

I don't believe each of the above positions will simultaneously be on field every offensive play, however. For example, Walker could replace the FB on many plays...

- - - - - - - - - -

LE: Justin Smith, Tukuafu
NT: Sopoaga, Jean-Francois, Ian Williams
RE: McDonald, Dobbs

WOLB: Haralson, Aldon Smith (I think this will get switched by mid-season)
TLB: Bowman, Costanzo
MLB: Willis, Grant
SOLB: Brooks, Applewhite

CB: Spencer, Brown (Brown should be the nickelback), Brock
FS: Reggie Smith, Goldson
SS: Whitner, Madieu Williams, Spillman (Spillman's a special teams player)
CB: Rogers, Culliver

K: Akers
P: Lee
LS: Jennings
KR: Ginn
PR: Kyle Williams

same here. Maybe 2 QBs for season, idk though

The 49ers will sign a VET QB from the cuts today. Brodie Croyle has GOT to be better than McCown. There are going to be better option than McCown available. If we go with only Smith and Kaepernick this year, it is going to be a long season if Alex gets injured for any length of time. Kaepernick is simply just not ready.
Mayzel sign Brett Favre lolz
were just going to sign a qb that gets cut from another team
Look to Baltimore, a little brotherly love coming our way.
We have a young roster . . . 22 guys with 2 full seasons or less, 17 with 3-5 years and only 14 guys with more than 6 full seasons.

So my final take had three wrong.

The two big surprises to me are Colin Jones making it over Adams and McCown getting cut.

for those who think braylon could get suspended its not happening especially if aqib talib isnt gonna be suspended

Just a guess but I would bet most teams don't have more than 14 guys with more than 7+ full seasons of experience. If the average team kept 14 such guys, that would mean over 26% of the players in the league have been in the NFL since 2004 or earlier. Seems kinda high to me.

Yeah, Goodell passed out his 'spankings' today (all of them), and Edwards wasn't anywhere near the consideration of suspension.

-Edwards is definitely our starting Flanker next Sunday, and there's a good chance Crabtree's been ready to play for almost 2 weeks (but we've been hiding him), and he could start at Split-End.

Maybe, but I'll be very surprised if he sees more than 5-7 snaps during the game. He'll be rusty as hell, have no timing with his QB, and probably be favoring his foot, even if it's supposedly fully healed.

Don't see him playing as a starter with the limited practice he's had, but hope he is totally healed and ready to go.
