If you want me to explain my rationale regarding my final 53 ask away!

I think you are pretty close here, Justafan... However, it is hard for me to believe that the Niners will cut Wragge, who is a solid vet backup for the 3 interior positions. I think Person ends up on the PC...but will probably be promoted to the 53 at some point during the season.

Also, after tonight's game, it looks like it will be hard to put Reuland on the practice squad and T Brown looked pretty solid tonight too...just saw your update so we are obviously on the same page.

Let us all hope that the Niners can hide a few of these guys on the PC... For the first time in quite awhile, this team is facing some tough cuts.

I also don't think that they cut T. Brown either. I can't imagine them going with such inexperience after the 2 starting CBs

Notes: I really had a difficult time deciding between keeping Colin Jones and T. Brown. Ultimately I went with Brown, we need that experience. I dont think Ronald Johnson has done anything to warrant a roster spot, same for Ted Ginn, of course there is still two more games to go. I think Ginn is a good returner but Philip Adams is a very capable returner and can contribute as a nickel/backup corner. However, I'm a fan of Lance Long, and i'm glad to see Kyle Williams making an impact... he had a great catch against the Raiders. I also think Demarcus Dobbs has won himself a roster spot, but can see him on the Practice squad as well. And yeah, I copied the depth chart format from JustaFan

I think it will be really interesting to see how many WRs, OLmen, DLmen, CBs, and safeties the Niners keep on the 53...

Guys like R Johnson, C Jones, Ian Williams and even Brock may end up on the practice squad unless they really show something special in the next 2 pre-season games.

I could see the Niners keeping only 5 WRs, 5 CBs, 4 safeties, 9 OLmen, and 6 DLmen for example and I could also see them keeping one more guy at each of those positions.

As I have said, the cuts are going to be a lot tougher to make this year.

If Norris makes the team I may need professional help for severe cognitive dissonance.

This thread needs to be retitled "Guys We Will Ship Off to Seattle"!

Nice list. I can't really disagree..not too familiar with some of the backups. I would say though that in both preseason games we got burned with some long returns. I would let the ST coach make the call on C taylor, R. Johnson, Mckillop and T Brown whether he needs any of those guys.

It will be really interesting to see the FB battle in the coming games. Norris had a good game tonight but I'm rooting for Miller like most fans.

I've read Rojo's had a nice camp but yeah..didn't see much in the game.

As for Ginn, I hope he can improve his hands. He's a really reliable returner and that's nothing to undervalue. I could go either way with him. I mean if he averages even a few more yards per game than other returners that adds up over the season.

A lot of these guys are in really close battles so like I said, I'd let the ST coach decide 1 or 2.

Put on wragge and costanzo over person and kristick.

Rather have vet experience at both spots.

Why is Tarell Brown also listed with the cuts?

I also say Wragge, Costanzo, and Ginn should be on the roster. And where is Derek Hall? I would sign him to the PS.
I can't see Wragge and Brown getting cut. Wragge can play too many spots on the OL and Person, Beeler and Hall can make it on the PS. They still have a talent gap and corner and while Brown may not be the answer, he might be a stopgap until next year.

It's nice to see Boone starting to excel, as well as Larry Grant.

I'd have no problem with that. Now that you mention it NT's are a lot harder to find than 5th or 6th WR's. With Vernon and Walker we pretty much have two extra WR's when we need them.

Plus from everything I've ready, Kyle Williams has a unique skill set, where RonJon looks like a poor-mans Josh Morgan
