I don't think he's a bad guy. I just think he needs to out there with Alex. There is no question he and Alex were not on the same page last year for a few games.
If I were a rookie, I would not attend. Injury is too high a risk for someone who hasn't made a dime and has a chance to make millions.
Vernon Davis and Gore will be there, where is Anthony Davis and Crabtree?

The 49ers' player-led practices next week will include nearly every offensive rookie from the team's 10-man draft class. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick, running back Kendall Hunter, receiver Ronald Johnson and offensive linemen Daniel Kilgore and Mike Person are currently making travel arrangements to attend

sounds like our teams showing next week will be pretty decent.

I don't care what anyone says about Alex. This kid has shown so much in the face of such adversity, frustration and all out hate by our fan base and still he coordinates, coaches and leads his team through drills and practices...as a coach no less.

That kid rocks! Way to go Smitty and take the bull by the horns.

Major props to the kid becoming a man and takin' control of his team. If he made his choice to leave, we would be so f**ked up right now it wouldn't even be funny. Who was going to run the show? Carr? Instead, Alex has taken the initiative to communicate with his teammates especially his starters. Davis, Gore and even Crabtree will get to the workouts. His brain truly is amazing if in just two months he was able to absorb, understand and TEACH the playbook to others after a complete change in terminology from Digit to WCO.

Thank God for Alex Smith and his character and his desire to prove everyone wrong even me.

That is all.

Got to agree. Even though the fan base has been disappointed in his play the last 6 years, he has been a model of classiness, and obviously is attempting to make things work for this team. I hope fans cheer for him. He obviously has not quit on the team and organization.

Classiness dont equal good QB play. I'd take a good QB who with questionable off field stuff like Big Ben any day over some choir boy who cant hit a open receiver in stride.

I was about to respond with the bolded. I don't think anybody can question Alex's character, work ethic, etc since he showed up in 2005. Its making plays, instincts, and getting Ws that is the problem. Alex homers have a hard time understanding the difference.

I understand where you are coming from. I guess I am a Alex homer but it's not because of the difference you are stating.

Personally I blame most of our recent issues due to our coaching issues. Now people state this is just an excuse, but at this point it is just a difference in opinion.

Alex will be our QB going into 2011. With these team workouts the only thing that matters to me is that our QB is going to do everything in his power to make next year successful. So far Alex has done that so I will support him as the front runner for being our leader in 2011.

Looking back on what has happened simply to me is just up to debate. The only fact that is true is that our current coaching staff and our current players seem to be behind Smith. How will the translate to the field? All I can do is watch and cheer them on.

He is being serious but there is still a hint of sarcasm in there that makes it funny.

I think you're both wrong. VD is all politics. He knows what to say and who to say it to. He loves the media and is uping AS, because it would be stupid not to.
