Dave Razzano, a former NFL scout and frequent reference for Matt Maiocco posted something interesting on his twitter account. When asked by someone whether he thought the 49ers were committed to winning, he responded,"No I don't feel the 49ers are committed to winning." It got me thinking about the 49ers organization, not the coaches, but the owners above Jed. Are they willing to do what it takes to win, or does it seem like they're like the Bidwills who could care less about the product, as long as they make money? Personally, I've never really thought about it from that respect so I have a tough time making up my mind on that - what do you guys think?

I fully agree with him on the Alex Smith comments, but Im not sure about the rest of the stuff he says.

LOL u agree on the A. Smith part huh? Face the facts, If Sing Started A. Smith in week 16 we would have been in the playoffs and Harbaugh wouldnt be our coach...

That story about Razzano getting fired over Alex Smith is B.S. Bulger was coming off a Pro Bowl year and had just signed a big contract. The Rams were not in the market for a high pick QB. They may have argued over how Smith was rated but how intense could it have been over a guy everyone knew they weren't going to draft? It seems obvious that the Rams had other reasons for letting him go.

- Invested two first round picks in 2010 to help fix a bad o-line
- Try to secure financing to build a BILLION dollar stadium
- Offer top 10 coaching money to Jim Harbaugh

And the list goes on and on...

You can question the personnel. But the commitment to win has never wavered.

That is the only thing that shows a commitment to winning. What many fans don't realize there is a minimum that must be spent on player salaries and the stadium deal is profit motivated.

Whatever this Razzano dude says, it doesn't matter, because he is a joke.

The question isn't whether or not the 49ers are committed to winning, and it is completely ridiculous to question that they are, the real question is are they capable of winning.

Winning teams sell more merchandise and tickets than s**tty teams (unless they have a ridiculous fan base like the cowboys or raiders)

They may not be capable of winning but i'll guarantee they want to win and put more fans in the stands and sell more s**t with their logo on it

I think they're committed to winning but they're just not football-savvy. The vibe that I get is that they hire the best people who in their mind can do the job and then let that person dictate all football decisions. I also believe that they genuinely try to support the coaches in whatever way possible.

Is that a bad thing?

If you're an owner, why would you want to invest a stadium if it was going to result in a net loss? You're a small business owner, would you make that type of decision? I don't think so.

I doubt jed likes to look like a fool on national t.v.! I think getting Jim shows that. I think he's got a good team, olb, cb, qb need some work, jim was a qb at this level hopefully he can find us one he can model that has more talent then him. lol

There may have been a minimum when there was a cap, but not in the uncapped year.
