49ers not committed to winning?

Utterly ridiculous.

Making poor personnel and coaching decisions does not correlate to not being committed to winning. It means we made bad decisions.

If we weren't "committed to winning", we wouldn't have:

- Did what it took to get Nate Clements, the most sought after defensive free agent that year, to sign a contract
- Re-signed Patrick Willis to an assload of money
- Re-signed Vernon Davis to an assload of money
- Invested two first round picks in 2010 to help fix a bad o-line
- Try to secure financing to build a BILLION dollar stadium
- Offer top 10 coaching money to Jim Harbaugh

And the list goes on and on...

You can question the personnel. But the commitment to win has never wavered.

I don't think this ownership cares less about winning than others with Young Jed up there - he seems to care. Their challenge is that they don't have winning experience as owners, and have seemed rather arrogant in their hesitation to seek out the very best in FO & coaching staff to negate the negative impact their shortcomings.

LOL u agree on the A. Smith part huh? Face the facts, If Sing Started A. Smith in week 16 we would have been in the playoffs and Harbaugh wouldnt be our coach...

Yes, NOWIN overpaid for Nate. Willis and Vernon are no-brainers.

Trying to secure stadium financing is not a commitment but a joke -- if Yorks had simply paid for a stadium 12 years ago without trying to do it with OPM (Other Peoples' Money) we would have had a new stadium long ago and the entire cost would have been way below whatever Yorks will pay now. Jerry Jones has commitment to a stadium -- he has built two stadiums while Yorks are still trying to figure it out.

How about Yorks lack of commitment to the 49er Faithful -- raising my season tickets from $1200 to $2000 in one jump this year. I mean, my former season tickets. And, wait for the season ticket license fees to fund the new stadium.

I wish the York team would move to L.A. and we would be given an expansion team or a franchise moved from somewhere else, headed by the Steve Young and Brent Jones consortion (who were willing and able to fund a new stadium long ago, and who have always been in favor of returning to our WCO roots).

Weren't Yorks $30 million under the cap last year? Even allowing for re-signing key players, that has to be pretty light.

Oh yeah, then there was the brilliant commitment to win without a GM or real football guy in the front office. And, don't forget they pushed Walsh out the door and fired Mooch in favor of DEER. No playoffs in eight years in the weakest division in football.

Commitment means more than cheap talk.

This tells me more about Razzano than anyone else. In short, he is a giant...

I belive Jed is committed to winning but still not sure how to get it done. The pursuit and hiring of Harbaugh is pretty good evidence that Jed wants to get this right.

I also wonder about Razzano. He seems to have some kind of axe to grind against the Niners. If he was such a good evaluator why doesn't he have a job in some sort of scouting capacity with one of the 32 NFL teams?
