Why? Because I don't expect us to keep Nate Clements and Spencer hasn't been playing well either, so he's demoted. Two excellent CBs to cover while our new DC mixes up our blitz packages to bring more pressure. Von Miller was my other choice, but this is a dream scenario. So...

2. Trade- Kyle Orton (QB)
3. Draft- Prince Akamura (CB)...

BINGO! Clements might not take a pay cut and could be released, Spencer should be demoted, too. If we landed one proven elite CB and one rookie elite CB, it's tough to throw the ball downfield in case our pass rush doesn't reach QB in time. Our weakness was our secondary and pass D. With my dream scenario, it just got much better.

FA - Nmandi Asomugha, Mathias Kiwanuka, Alex Smith
Draft - 1st Round - Gabbert
- 2nd Round - Jimmy Smith

1. Sign Asomugha and Harvey Dahl
2. Resign Smith, Baas, Lawson and Goldson
3. Draft Robert Quinn and Jimmy Smith, Phil Taylor and Christian Ponder
4. Restructure Clements
5. Dump Haralson and David Carr

I think Spencer can be a very good #2 CB. That's a lot of money tied up in 1 position on the field. A pass rusher would be awesome. The we could have an above average: QB, TE, RB, CB, OLB, and ILB

In the past, I'd agree with you about Spencer. But this past season, he regressed (at least from games I've watched). I know we need a legit pass rush and either Von Miller or Quinn gives us that. But elite CBs are hard to find and if I were GM, I'd cut Clements and sign these two CBs. Sure it's a lot of $$$$, but our pass D was below average and we were ranked what...mid 20s D overall even though we had a really good run D. Our current CBs don't scare QBs to throw intermediate/deep passes, my dream scenario should help our secondary out tremendously.

Also, I could see us drafting a QB with our 2nd rd. pick (that's why I didn't give it away in a trade for Palmer, but I gave next year's away instead).

Oh, you are right. My bad. I forgot about how easy it has been to find an elite (or even serviceable) pass rusher for us lately.

He's scheduled to be a UFA in 2012 so if they stick to their guns they'll lose him next year with zero compensation, unless they franchise him. Nobody in their right mind will give up 2 #1's for Kolb nor should Philly expect it.
