Heitmann's had a good Niner career...but, unless something rather wierd happens, it's probably all but over. It wouldn't surprise me a bit to see Baalke draft an OG...or maybe a younger version of Snyder, someone capable of playing multiple positions and have AS as his starter at RG. Unless Rachal does a huge 180, I don't see him staying in the lineup...he's just not where he should be and it really hurt Anthony Davis this past season. AD didn't have a reliable linemate next to him and that's really bad for a rookie.

How you figure his Niner career is over? Heitmann is better than Snyder IMO, and if there are no lingering effects from his injuries this season, I see no reason why he can't play RG.
People seem to forget that dude played guard before taking over at center. Either way though, as long as Rachal's slow ass isn't playing, it's all good.

Does anyone else kind of feel bad for her? I mean that takes some balls to get up there and do that and for her to get hurt, I just don't feel comfortable making fun of her. These damn 49ers have my emotions all twisted up..........

****Breaking News***** Eric Heitmann is still Eric Heitmann

There you have it folks
We are probably not going to hear anything about him for months. The same goes for nearly every player on the roster. This collective bargaining issue seems like it is going to drag into the summer, for sure.

Heitmann and Staley were both names that were irreplaceable when they were injured, when they came back they both seemed very replaceable IMHO.

Staley? U sure?
He can go but Rachel better go first. I would be pissed if he was let go and Rachel was still around. God I cant stand that lazy all upper body fool. Thank god uncle dingleberry isnt around to breat feed him anymore.
I believe he may be done, not because he can't play effectively. After missing most of the season with the knee problem, he went on IR with a neck injury, which can be pretty serious.
Heitmann has been a good player for the Niners, especially when it came to making line calls. Nothing against Baas, who I thought did a fine job this year, but Heitmann was better at the line calls and his presence was missed.

Doubt Heitmann will be back this year but not because the team doesn't want him. He injured his neck this past season and I've heard reports that it could be a career ending problem. He will probably have to make the final decision whether or not to return. So far, no news.

If he did return, he would probably start at center with Baas moving over to RG. If that were the case, the line would be much improved IMHO.

My feeling is that with Harbaugh's creativity, we could see a surprise or two along the line. Certainly the offensive scheme will be radically different this year and the OLmen will be put in situations which bring out the best of their abilities. Getting Harbaugh was a terrific hire. We will finally be able to evaluate the true abilities of the players on this roster.
he's out for the year.

Heitmann is unlikely to play football in 2011 after undergoing neck surgery recently. It will be Heitmann's second lost season in a row; he missed 2010 with a fractured left fibula and the neck complications. The latest surgery was to repair a ruptured disk in the neck. (Free agent David Baas just got more leverage.) Heitmann's timetable for recovery has been optimistically set at six months. His agent says Heitmann's "hopes are to play as soon as he's cleared."
Supposedly he is a good player. I just can't remember seeing him play he is always injured
