The front office is not very good. Just Harbaugh.

what do you know about the front office to justify this comment?

Sick 'em Riki!

Count on SD to minimize ANY success York and Baalke had. Jed's third year as official CEO hires GM, Trent Baalke and lands Harbaugh. Paarag has proven his skills with contracts and that's where he stays. There will be another FO pro coming.

Bottom line, it won't matter a hill of beans until SD says sorry when we land our next 6th.

Until that time, a burr in the butt. He's the member of the family, our Niner Bro, where we go

lol. I am not going after him. I am honestly interested. A lot of people think that San Diego talks out of his ass, but maybe we should give him a chance to talk. maybe he's an idiot, maybe he's not, but I am interested on what he has to say in this case.

He's no idiot for sure. He's truly loves this team. I can feel it in the way he talks about the team. He hates John and Denise York with Jed as an extension because of their failed tenure as owners for the last eight years since firing Mooch. Nothing atones for those sins in SD's eyes and I can respect it. I may not agree, but I can respect that passion about your team. It's a different POV.

That's why I give him a ration of crap anytime he goes the "hate York" route. I have faith in Jed, really do. He made the right choice as a CEO with Baalke as Baalke was able to land Harbaugh.

In time, this season will go down in 49er lore. SD, will have no choice, but to accept it.

Ain't that right SanDiego?

i think its hilarious how SanDiego is infamous all over this website.

Craziness!

Yeah, he sounds like he really gets it.

Baalke played outside linebacker in college.

I had to look it up because he really sounds like he's played the game. He's got a really good understanding of the mentality of the players. Corners need to be confident, receivers need to be excited....

Guy is obviously a student of the game. He sounds really confident, too. That makes me feel confident.

I think Jed might just have done did his Uncle proud.

When does next season start?

Cool fact, did not know he played OLB in college,,, whats all this crap about our front office not having football guys
Summary:

-Alex Smith is garbage and held the ball waaaaayyyyyy toooooo long

-We have zero interest in Ryan Mallett or Cam Newton

-We are eyeing a smaller QB that isn't getting a lot of press clippings now (Kellen Moore?)

-Mike Singletary is a moron and couldn't coach talent

-We want offense! Not run and control the clock, but score points

-Chilo is no good. He gets a final chance this year

-Baas is starting C next year

-Lawson is gone, Haralson is a disappointment, and we need to add an OLB

-CB is not the problem, but can use improvement if the right guy is there

-We will likely trade for our gameday starter, but he will be more of a stop-gap than franchise QB. (Think McNaab, not Kolb)

what do you know about the front office to justify this comment?

Jed York - Inexperienced 20 something rich kid running the show. Offered the low offer and got lucky on Harbaugh because he didn't want to move his family.

Baalke - Part of the Scot M. school of FAIL. Was around for those bad drafts and part of the evaluation process. Was promoted up from within because there exists a comfort zone there with Jed. The comforting inside hire rather than the experienced outside and better hire to really clean house.

Paraage - Recent MBA grad. No experience at all.

John York - Cheap and clueless.

Denise Debartolo York - Cheap, clueless and doesn't care much.

That by any standard is a really bad front office and ownership. The only guy I trust is Harbaugh who is a real football guy and an offensive genius and a QB guru. But the other parts coud potentially drag him down. There is always the possibility he drags the dead weight up too.

I haven't seen a lot of winning around this place in 8 years. Show me. Don't tell me...

It was very encouraging...

Wow.

Thank you for posting that. It made my day. Seriously.

I never would have caught that interview if you didn't start this thread.

I are excited.

Agree, great stuff to hear!
It must've been painful for guys like Baalke and Mcloughan to see their roster get dismantled by a goon like Singletary, no wonder Mcloughan turned to the bottle.

you failed because you inserted your personal bias all over this crap. Mcnabb?? lol, these guys are looking or an upgrade over what we had. Alex Smith held the ball for too long? UHhhh, that was Troy Smith son, did you even watch the games? You did a poor job, so the is justified.

Yes, both held the ball for too long, but clearly Alex was the starter the majority of the season, and when Baalke made it clear that the QB held the ball for far too long all season, especially early on when the O-line was playing poorly. That's when Alex was QB. And of course this is my bias! I took what he said, and interpreted it. It sounded to me like they would be looking to trade for a QB, but also draft one. That's why I said McNaab, because he fits the bill of someone who can fill in for a bit, but at the same time is not the future. What is your best QB guess. This isn't what I want, this is what I believe he is saying.
One of the things that stood out to me was the way he described drafting a QB. Here's what I heard him say:

Something about if you draft a QB who played in the spread in college, you can't really expect them to start in the first game. He talked about if you are going to start a QB they really need to come from a pro-style offense.

So to me that suggests that if they are going to start a rookie, it'll be from a pro-style offense. If they draft someone from a spread offense, it'll be to develop him Aaron Rodgers style.
