I don't think those 2 guys are the same. He talks about a guy with physical ability and a big arm but limited intangibles that's not Cam Newton.

All Mallett really has going for him is his size and rocket arm. The guy can't move and throw, nor can he move period. It's like having a throwing machine back there.

Newton at least has ability outside of his arm and easily makes his team better.

Yea most GMs tell people about which players they are gonna draft so that other teams know what they are doing. so Cam is probably not on the radar.

I'm pretty sure Manning is quite a bit more than just a guy that throws the ball.

Baalke gets it....everybody rides Manny's jock because he's solid in coverage but in order to maxmize the potential of the 3-4, we need a OLB who's great at rushing the passer. Finally a guy who has a clear vision for the team

I also want to thank the football Gods for allowing us to lose to the Rams...in order to make all of this possible.

I'm not sure where to begin here. Manning does NOT have a rocket arm, he's got phenomenal foot work and movement within the pocket, and his ability to read a defense is unparalleled to anyone in the history of the game. He's the hardest worker the position has ever seen, and an unparalleled leader. Manning is NOT described by that line AT ALL. Stand and throw to wide open first read = Mallett, pick defenses apart at all levels of the field, with precision and accuracy in an unprecedented time = Manning.

Point taken. He really did describe Mallet. But I added Newton because he did drive the idea that the guy he liked was not a big name currently. Also, to the user that suggested Trent is BS'ing as to not give his hand away, my theory is that the entire GM/scout community knows that Mallet is not a legitimate QB, and this will show up on draft day. He's not giving away secrets, just pointing the media and fans in the direction of what all the teams already know. Just my theory tho. I wouldn't touch Mallet until maybe the 3rd. But that's just me...

Manning may not run the ball but he can move around in the pocket and has uncanny accuracy. Mallett just has a gun. His accuracy is affected by a tiny bit of pressure and even when he has a perfect pocket around him his accuracy is iffy. The guy has no touch on his ball.
