I doubt it that he has any interest in putting in long hours when he can simply play golf and be on dancing with the stars.
Allthough a coaching combo of rathaman RB coach and Rice WR coach sounds awsome, now bring in Steve or Joe as a QB coach, and brent jones a s a TE coach

I love Rice, but I am not sure I want him as the WR coach... we've had some recent experience with HOF players as coaches...
Quick someone... how many HOF players have been sucessful coaches? ... Dick LeBeau just went in the HOF, Mike Ditka, Art Shell... those are the only 3 I can think of who even coached, oh and of course Mike Singletary...
Well of those 3, all 3 did pretty well as POSITION coaches, which is exactly what Rice would be. If Rice is good at teaching technique, other nuances of the pro game, and turning our group into a more intelligent squad that aggressively attacks the football instead of waiting for the ball to come to them, I'm all for it.
Rice would be an awesome position coach because he is a perfectionist. i recall in some special i saw about him a couple years back that he mentioned that. even his ex wife raved about how dedicated he was to his route running and training back in his playing days.
p.s.
good riddance to that bum J. Sullivan

If we get Jerry as WR coach, Crabtree's game will skyrocket. If theres anyone who can help Tree reach his full potential, its JR.

Jerry! Jerry! Jerry! Rice that is... I think he would be more than willing to return to the 49ers as a WR coach, which could dramatically improve our WR core.
I was watching his show with Raj Mathai last night, and he insisted he wished the Yorks would ask for the old player's help again, suggesting Jerry is potentially willing to return as a WR coach? Anything's possible...

If he can teach it, bring him on.
