Well i look at a lot of these writers in the same light other than both of the Matts.
Someone made one about Tim K, on Smith, so now here is one by lynch that talks about the comparisons made by both QB's.
And i just say if ur gonna take anyone's view on the subject then look at all views then make your assessment. Not just the one that we individually like the best that backs up the way we think.
I think this article did a good job in comparing the good and bad with both QB's.

Very good read. Troy needs more time and Alex has came off the bench before and produced some solid numbers. I think solid numbers is more than enough to beat the Seahawks on Sunday. The just hope he keeps his "WTF" moments to a BARE minimum

The WTF moments that need to be kept to a bare minimum are the ones where the PLAYCALLING is made or taking too long to be made. This is where we make our mistakes! Please please please no burned timeouts and no delay of games. Look at how well we've done with our first drives recently with Troy and Alex. Playcalling needs to be outstanding in order for us to win. They need to come in and be decisive on how they're going to attack. Because it has shown when they don't have plays ready, it's usually "Well sh!t, I don't have a play so let's run up the gut with a draw or FB lead?". Come on now get it together!

I formed my own opinion on this subject and Tim K's comments fall right in line with them.
Like I said over and over this was the "Make or Break" year for Alex "No Excuses" but after going 1-5 here we are again with EXCUSES!!!
Now Troy comes in goes 3-2 (2 wins are against div. rivals) and at the very least put us in a position to talk playoffs. Yeah Troy needs lots of work but whoever believes that if Alex was under center at GreenBay with no Gore he would of pulled out the win needs a drug test.

You need a drug test if you think this lost season all lies on who was under center.

All I take this season about Alex Smith is that the team stunk, the OC stunk, the play calling stunk, the organization stunk, and we still don't know whether he will be a solid NFL quarterback.
I'm not sure more than a handful of NFL QB's could have played well under center this year, in this highly dysfunctional system and team.

Then why make a QB change at this point? Why did they stick with Troy 2 games once Alex was healthy? Why the QB position is the only position being changed?
Obviously the team feels this season is not lost and the position is ONE of the main reasons (not the only reason)we are 4-8!
Now personally I feel this season is lost and going back to Alex won't make a difference.

You have to be quite dimwitted to think that after watching the last 3 games ,really dense.

You answered your own question. It doesn't matter who is/was under center, this team is only as good as they are coached. Once they learn a philosophy that will take ADVANTAGE of the players strengths they will look like a football team. Right now they have no ADVANTAGE whatsoever, because of a stubborn coach. If you go out and tell everyone what kind of team you are instead of being creative you will see negative results. It's like telling the enemy in a war that we're coming on this day at this time and straight to the front door. Instead of flanking around the sides and catching them when they're not expecting us.
