Who who you want the 49ers to retain if/when a new HC is hired? If the 49ers go back to a West Coast Offense, (As I suspect they will) I would want to retain RB Coach Tom Rathman. Who better to teach these guys the intricacies of the WCO? I would also consider retaining Offensive Line Coach Mike Solari and Assistant Offensive Line Coach Ray Brown. (Especially Ray Brown)

If we're talking just coaches, then I say we keep Rathman and DL coach Tomsula and that's it.

Coaching staff gone...........hire a GM who will decide who stays and who goes from our free agents......................GM and Jed decide on a head coach and new staff................wait to see about the CBA and the draft.

Coaching Staff: Everyone gone except Rathman and the DL Coach

Secondary: Move Clements to FS, let Goldson walk, draft a corner in the Top 10.

Quarterback: Try and re-sign Alex Smith if he'll have us...if not sign Matt Hasselback and draft a rookie in the 2nd round

O-line: End the Chilo Rachal experiment...try and sign a FA replacement or put David Baas back in that slot.

it doesnt make any sense to re-sign Marc Wilson .. ooopsss, i meant Akili Smith... wait, i really meant Alex Smith... it's time to part ways.. i wish him the best of luck as Norv Turner will allow him to learn behind Rivers.

solari is the reason for this god awful oline play...he goes

5th most sacks allowed in the league

3 most QB hits allowed

AND WE DONT EVEN DROP BACK TO PASS FOR THE 1ST 3 QUARTERS!!!!

stop smoking crack please. alex smith BETTER BE GONE next year. the guy is one of the worst qb's i've ever seen. extremely inconsistent, p*ssy of an arm, and the mindset of a 4 yr old girl.

oh wow! Alex is the victim of terrible coaching! he could have been a decent QB if we had someone to make him not play scared. He has the arm, he has the scrambling ability, he knows the plays. i mean...how can you put him in the game with 5 minutes to go and excpect him to win the game??? terrible coaching!!! coach sing! go back to chicago!

Alex is the victim of terrible coaching? Perhaps this year but Alex is certainly a victim of inconsistent coaching. That being said he has had at least 3 OCs that could have taught the guy something. Anything.

Alex is gone. With Singeltary and everyone except Rathman and Tomsulla.

There used to be a team that played in red & gold and called themselves the 49ers. Failure for them was not winning a superbowl. Do you think anyone out there has that mentality?
