Offense:
Keep:
-RBs- Tom Rathman
-OL- Mike Solari
-OL- Ray Brown
-TEs- Pete Hoener (regardless of system, Pete's done wonders with Davis, Walker, and Byham's fundamentals).
Trash:
-OC- Mike Johnson (amateur wannabe OC).
-QBs- Jason Michael (this guy knows nothing about what he's doing).
-WRs- Jerry Sullivan (long-time coming, has yet to develop a PB-quality WR).
-A;WRs- Wendell Davis (Singletary fodder).
Defense:
Keep:
-D-LINE- Jim Tomsula (high-priority).
-Secondary- Vance Joseph
Trash:
-PRS- Al Harris (Singletary fodder).
-ILBs- Vantz Singletary (Singletary fodder).
-Assistant HC- Johnnie Lynn (Singletary's right-hand man).
Fringe:
-DC- Greg Manusky (his fate depends upon the new HC's defensive preference).
-OLBs- Jason Tarver (was an offensive quality control coach/offensive assistant under Mooch, would have been a WCO-QB coach under Mooch down the road, but was stiffed as an OLBs coach by the Yorks so Tarver could stay within the organization/locale).

What's the big deal with Solari? Our line blows

Lol, I think if it was up to you guys...we'd have a brand new coaching staff every single year.

No matter what, a new coach will want to bring in his own guys. There will be changes.

Cosigned, I'd only keep Rathman and maybe Ray Brown.

No, I understand that. I'm just saying NT will b***h about anybody if given a chance. We can go 16-0 and win the Superbowl and there will be SOMEBODY who will have an issue.

Seriously, and 70% of the guys on our coaching staff wouldn't even be eligible for washing Belichick's hoody!

More outstanding analysis from SanDiego. This dude is worse than susweel with his blanket comments.

I agree with almost everything but given the way the secondary has been playing, I think Vance Joseph would be on the fringe as well and nothing locked in to come back.

I read on the Press Democrat that Manusky is in his last year as a DC. This gives extra incentive for the 49ers to bring an external hire (Marvin Lewis, John Fox) that is approved by our next HC - and adding more incentive for the HC to pick the majority of his staff.
I think if we go WCO, Rathman, Sullivan, Hoener, Solari, and Brown are safe on the offensive side of the ball. Defensive side...I think Tarver and Tomsula are the only ones safe.
Kurt Schotty is gone gone gone

I disagree. Why should Jerry Sullivan be safe?

As much as I like Rathman, I don't care if an incoming coach fires ALL of them! Not one of these coaches is irreplaceable! It might help to completely clean house rather than keep any of the losing tradition these coaches have established.
