Why all of the hate on our defense?

They cant stop anybody at critical moments, and anytime the Offense scores(which is rare, i know) the D always lets the opposing team march right down the field

Patrick Willis sucks.

Clay Matthews gets game planned every week and still makes plays, im tired of these Williscuses

They were terrible against Kolb. Sure Gore fumbled twice, but Kolb was doing whatever he wanted with them. They put up 17 in the first half and could've had more. They also made Matt Moore and Cassell look like Peyton Manning, which is inexcusable. They really should've lost the Denver game as well if it wasn't for the penalty on the flea flicker.

I could see them getting a lot better this second half though, the schedule is a lot easier for sure.

I agree with this much at least. Our defense has been for the most part underperforming. We can lose sight of that if we wish, thanks to the offensive failures... but still doesn't change the reality that our defense has crapped the bed just as much. Too much talent on the defense for them to have given up what they have. Our DC often gets out-schemed, and we have only rare moments of creative, deceptive play design.

... or it's at least fun and righteous for the fans to spread the hate.

Because they make guys like Matt Moore look like pro bowlers.

Clay Matthew is unstoppable. Oh to have a OLB like that. and we wonder why the Packers 3-4 in 2 years is already looking better than the niners.

Now thats what a OLB in a 3-4 is supposed to look like. But we are too busy appreciating Manny Lawson.

... and there it is. Sopoaga soaks up blocks... Franklin picks an A gap to penetrate (quite often the wrong one)... and Justin has his moments... but far too often does the opposing QB have a nice clean pocket to step in and away from our outside rushers. That, and our CBs play soft cushions, and it's game over for our rush LBs.
