But you guys want to keep debating this round and round so feel free. Just don't get warned or banned

Awww.... no love for stats.

Can't argue with you, though. Stats support it.

Hope he chokes when they open up the offense, though.

Oh I LOVE me some stats. I would pull out the DYAR from Football Outsiders but it would only support our position

Hell yeah, id take BRadford any day. I swore with the rams he was gonna fail, but s**t it's amazing that he has them 4-4 i think.

Gah... that would be taking it a little too far. I appreciate what they're doing over there, but I just think there are too many variables in football.

Football stats are for fun! Don't take my fun away.
Bradford is playing very well for a rookie.

But keep in mind that Arizona is 3-4 with the QB duo of Anderson and Hall. Having a competant coaching staff is also very beneficial.

You mean the team that went to the Superbowl in 2008 and 2nd round of the playoffs last year only to lose to the team that won the Superbowl?

3-4 is horrible considering what they have done the last two years.

Considering all the key players they lost in the off-season? Yeah, going 3-4 with Hall and Anderson throwing the ball is more of a feat than you are giving credit.

and the key difference was not coaching, but who they had at QB.

The fact that we are comparing Alex to another rookie or backup/third stringer is a problem in itself.
Now comparing Alex Smiths rookie season to Bradford would be reasonable since the talent the Rams have around Bradford is comparable to what we had in 2005. If you don't believe me, then take a look at the stats of their skilled players: they are not impressive yet Bradford is playing much better than Alex did in his rookie year.

I don even care anymore because Alex lost his starting job...again. That is another tell in itself.

I was thinking all of the same things, but was sure my response (if I wrote those things down) would be viewed as "hater excuses". But I agree with you. If we compared Alex's rookie year stats to Bradfords, it would be an embarrassment.

I have a feeling Alex will be a 33 year-old Niners and we will be comparing him to the newest rookie.

Alex is doing something sneaky here, I can just imagine:

[Alex] s**t! That's 3 straight completions! Bar is too high now. I gotta lower it with "small hands" play or something robotic.

[Commentator] And Alex Smith gets called intentional grounding while not having any pressure and throwing a ball 50 yards downfield.

[Alex with a smirk] That should get me another 3-year "let's see if next year will finally be his breakout year" contract. [calls wife] Baby, you know that trip to Italy you wanted? Book the flight cause I'm gett'n paid 3 more."
Stop this immediately!

Bizarre esoteric stats are only to be used to make Alex look good!

This unauthorized use of micro statistics is damaging to the cult of Alex and will not be tolerated!

Although I do find it funny that un-drafted rookie free agent Max Hall is ahead of Alex!

Coaching makes them better than their QBs are. Well, that and luck.

Buy, yeah.... They sure do miss Warner. Hehehehe....

Luck will make them better, but I hope we draft him first.

Dont pull the DYAR........Alex Smith is way down the list on that one, and we dont need posters trying to breakdown the stats to raise Alex up a few notches.

So explain the records in San Diego and Dallas. And even Buffalo for that matter. Fitzpatrick is playing lights out..

1. Turnovers

Now look to see if those teams' QB's are helping the situation or not helping. Romo and Rivers are still playing well (notice the play of DAL offense without Romo) and not hurting the team. The team just keeps hurting itself. Same goes for the 49ers but they were 1-6 because the QB wasn't helping either.

Fitzpatrick has 12TD to 5INT.
