Now comparing Alex Smiths rookie season to Bradford would be reasonable since the talent the Rams have around Bradford is comparable to what we had in 2005. If you don't believe me, then take a look at the stats of their skilled players: they are not impressive yet Bradford is playing much better than Alex did in his rookie year.
I don even care anymore because Alex lost his starting job...again. That is another tell in itself.
I was thinking all of the same things, but was sure my response (if I wrote those things down) would be viewed as "hater excuses". But I agree with you. If we compared Alex's rookie year stats to Bradfords, it would be an embarrassment.
I have a feeling Alex will be a 33 year-old Niners and we will be comparing him to the newest rookie.
Alex is doing something sneaky here, I can just imagine:
[Alex] s**t! That's 3 straight completions! Bar is too high now. I gotta lower it with "small hands" play or something robotic.

And Alex Smith gets called intentional grounding while not having any pressure and throwing a ball 50 yards downfield.
[Alex with a smirk] That should get me another 3-year "let's see if next year will finally be his breakout year" contract. [calls wife] Baby, you know that trip to Italy you wanted? Book the flight cause I'm gett'n paid 3 more."
