Well we will be rebuilding again soon soon and the great Vernon will be shipped out. Next time we have a top pick lets draft another TE...obviously this strategy is working GREAT

BTW, everybody and there momma knew that you need a HOG at NT to make the 3-4 really work.

But yeah, lets leave the RARE Ngata's of the world on the board so we can have Vernon Davis over Marcedes Lewis

Vernon will be shipped out?

I'd say that's a bold, if not down right silly declaration. Especially considering he just signed a new contract before the season. Not only would we lose one of best players/leaders, we would hurt our own cap situation. Highly unlikely...
I didn't want to draft Vernon Davis. I thought that it was too high of draft slot to pick a TE. I was thinking back to Ted Kwalick.

But I was wrong. And I am glad to admiit it.

Davis has become a much better receiver than I ever expected him to be. He is absolutely lethal in the red zone. And his blocking skill has never been an issue. But his most valuable quality is how he has stepped-up as a team leader, after being sent to the locker room by Singletary. Vernon Davis makes no excuses and makes the players around him better. That's the definbition of a professional, as I see it.

A lesson here, is that not only does a player need the right offensive scheme to succeed, but an underclassman, like Davis was when he came out, often also needs an extra year or two to develop, since they didn't have the opportunity tio get that final year (or two) in college.

VD is the second best TE in the NFL.

debatable, but lets not even debate that. My question is....what exactly is the big difference between the #1 TE in the NFL vs the #10 TE in the NFL

10 TDs
Come on now i can't buy anybody saying they wanted Ngata over VD on draft day.
I like VD, he's not the best, or even in the top 2 TE's in the league though.
No, VD is one of our best players right now next to Gore and Willis.
Just imagine if Vernon played with a legit QB? That's effin scary.

yeah, imagine if we had a QB all these years to actually throw to him.

I will keep VD. Concentrate on someone to throw to him.

I regret drafting Alex Smith more than any other draft pick. $50 million down the drain

You spent 50$ million on Alex Smith???
I have NO problem with Vernon Davis once he's had a attitude change.

I DO have a problem with QB's who keep throwing high and hanging up the receivers where they are unable to protect themselves.

Even the best and toughest of all receivers will go down if they're hit enough.

I think you'll see a vast improvement once they get better QB play and start winning more games.

Of course this is just one of those "ROCKET SCIENCE" theories!
Vernon Davis is an elite TE, no regrets!

GO NINERS!!!
i did the first couple of years when he was being productive. i love him now. he almost broke the td record last year, are you serious right now?
Hell NO! VD is the shiznit! Not only is he a great player but he has matured into a team leader.
