It's gonna happen. Believe me, teams know they are on the cusp of being elite. Give Sing more time to finish weeding out the weak links. Can't do it in 1 1/2 seasons. I see more fight and more talent on this team than in the last 8 years. One last note, Anyone who is a true fan would say suggestive, supportive things as opposed to name calling, bashing of anyone with the 49ers. It's such hypocrisy.

That you even used the great BW as a tool for comparison with Singletard is blasphemy!!!
Like I said before, I didn't compare them. I simply pointed out Bill's stats. Give Sing time to finish weeding out the crap. I will make one prediction though, Sing Will never go 2-14.

In 1979 the Niners were crap. Bill Walsh turned a door mat into a perennial contender. All while installing the most innovative offensive scheme in NFL history. Sing is 0-5 with a team that is loaded with talent and was a preseason favorite to walk away with the division.

The only crap Sing needs to weed out is himself and his bonehead offensive philosophy.
Apparently you you don't get it. I love this team. Sing is our coach. If you can't breed optimism for our team, please don't say anything.

I love the team just as much as you do, but we have a right to dissatisfaction. This is a franchise that has won 5 Super bowls. We expect the best, and the expectation that we will win is what drove us to win 5 Super Bowls.

Part of the overall problem with the 49ers since DeBartolo lost control of the team is the will to win that permeated from the top-down. I think the team in this last decade has been too satisfied with being a young, up-and-coming team that hasn't accomplished anything. There comes a point where we have to be hungry and want more, and take that next step.

Bill Walsh was hired in the midst of DeBartolo firing another head coach and grasping at straws. Walsh was able to turn the team around. He was 2-14 in his first season, but the team was rallying behind him.

I think our team is still playing hard and we SHOULD continue our support. But when it hits that point where the players stop caring, Singletary will be done.

No I am completely on your side dude I tell everyone the same thing Bill Wash team sucked when he first came in. Its the QB and players not executing when we need them too. Last 3 games have been lost because the players did not execute and play smart. Even NO game was like this. Mike or Walsh or Gruden or whoever can not go out there and play the game. Players must want to win and need to win in close games like the ones weve been in. The only thing i do not like is that Mike Johnson did wait till last Q to use spread offense when he knows its our offense strength and Alex best way to win a game as he is our qb right now like it or not. If we fired Walsh becuase of one bad season as Full time head coach then what. Or what if Cohwer was fired after so long because he didnt win the big game. In the end playing this roulette game with HC will get us no where we NEED TO STICK TO A GUY and stick to that plan period. If the right opp presents itself like if gruden does want to come over then ok release or demote sing but doing things blindly just out of anger or not thinking will dig us deeper than this if thats possible. "It's always darkest before the dawn" and “When it is dark enough, you can see the stars.”

Bill Walsh sucked when he first came in?
What are you smoking? He was 2- 14 with a bad team, true. BUT he had been succesful at Stanford and as an OC. VERY succesful. And it was in his first year that he went 2 - 14, NOT in his 2nd.
Sing sniffed the playoff last year and now is 0 - 5 to start the year and the team shows all the signs of BAD practice habits. Our mistakes are mental, that falls on the HC.
Please NEVER use Walsh' s name and this jokers in the same sentence again.
I don't think I can refrain from your request. If you were a real 49ers fan, You wouldn't call our current HC a Joker. He has made us respectable again. I believe within 2-3 years we win another superbowl with Sing as coach. I am not so blind to the progress we have made. Our players have made mistakes. Our coaching staff HAS put us in position to succeed.

Seriously?
What are you smoking brother? 0 - 5 is respectable again? Hiring Jimmy Raye when other real OCs turned Sing down is respectable? Running out onto the field to call a timeout is respectable?
Progress? What progress? Every week we shoot ourselves in the foot and lose, this is not just the players messing up, this is due to a lack of preparation by the COACHES. Well coached teams do not make these mistakes week after week.
This was a problems under Nolan and continues today under his protege Sing.
Please, put down the kool-aid, take of the rose colored shades and admit it, this franchise is lost right now.
I love em, but until we get a real GM in here we are f(**^d.

Breed optimism? Out of what? At 0-5 if you can't see that OUR coach is ruining this team than maybe you shouldn't say anything. I love this team too, and am a diehard fan just like you. But I still could see that Singletary is not the man. We have nothing to lose by firing him and putting someone else in his place.

We are not lost. Like I said before. the players cough up/tip ball instead of catch it. Coaches have put us in position to succeed. I have seen other coaches run onto the field for a time out. Sing is not the first. You ever wonder why he did that? He fired J-raye. It seems to me he has been very aware of what needs fixing. We were picked to win the NFC West by virtue of Kurt Warner retiring. Please give him time and help to tsop the bashing by our own fans.
Still haven't responded to me. Honestly, I like the optimism but don't shoot down the facts and reality and act like we're not real fans. Gimme a break.
I get the feeling all the singletary bashing is coming from the teenagers/preteen on this forum.....just a guess

You'd be wrong.

Anyway, Singletary will be gone at the end of the season. No point sacking him before.

LOL!!!!!!
When Singletary abracadabras himself with his magic cross into being a student of X's and O's coaching, then we can discuss turning this Titanic shipwreck around. Right now, we are heading right for the iceberg and the York's are like the band that kept playing, hoping we will be distracted by the new Stadium and the "bright future" and not realize the disaster that this organization is headed for and how this whole plan is about to blow up right before our eyes.

Coaches, organization r all at falt. How many years have we been losing? We have had plenty of opportunities to hire good coaches, get decent veteran QBs. I could put a huge list of players and coaches that we should of got.
I don’t think the Yorks really care about winning. If they did they would have hired a proven HC by now.

You could have Vince Lombardi, Bill Walsh and Bill Belichick coaching the same team if they turned the ball over four times a game they wouldn’t win either.

5 turnovers lost by 3 to Philly
3 turnovers lost by 2 to Atlanta
4 turnovers lost by 3 to New Orleans

12 turnovers in three games and they lose by a combined 8 points to three playoff teams. This team could easily be 3-2 and tied for the division lead if they just held on to the damn ball. But yeah it’s the coach’s fault.

Not to mention this team is starting one of the worst offensive lines in the league with two rookies and a center that’s played the position a handful of times in his life. I wonder if Heitmann’s leg is unbroken yet.

I think the Saints should fire their coaching staff because they got beat by the Cardinals and an undrafted rookie free agent quarterback WONDER WHY that happened.
The "we're a young and inexperienced team" excuse got old 5 years ago. That's the lame BS excuse the ownership wants the sheep fans to believe. This is a team that still makes the dumb mistakes it made back in 04 and 05. Poorly coached teams play dumb. Well coached teams play smart. That's how it has always been and always will be. 15 turnovers in 5 games is on the coach. Not beating a team at home playing 3rd stringers at pretty much every position is on the coach. 0-5 is on the coach with a talented team is on the coach.
Guys we need to look in the mirror serously. How much prbowlers are on this squad? Willis-NOT playing like one! Gore-IMHO should se less time he is not the same! VD-maybe an alternate though not his falt they don't use him properly. andy Lee is the only other player I would consider.

Simply put, we overstate our talent level. Great talent don't continually play this poorly or make these many mistakes!
