Grade Alex Smith's performance in game 3 @ Oakland...

I think I would like to meet all the dumb asses grading Smith lower then a B and punch them in the face, then again I'd get arrested for hitting a girl who obviously knows nothing about football. DID YOU WATCH THE SAME GAME lol f**king idiots...100 yards without Crabtree and Davis(DONT EVER COMPARE WALKER TO DAVIS AGAIN THEY ARE IN WAY DIFFERENT LEAGUES)and Gore played one series and he still had a qb rating over 100 and was winning the game against a very good defense before he sat out. It would have been 17-7 at half WITH SMITH AS QB if reggie smith doesn't blow the coverage. Smith played a great game A is the grade he deserves, B if your picky? People who don't agree seriously meet me in an alley I want to fight you because you frustrate me with your stupidity.

some people just flat out do not like the guy. They can't even acknowledge improvement, unless its something like well it took him 6 years. What's hilarious is watching a game with those people. When Alex is playing well they're super quiet, but as soon as he makes one mistake, all of a sudden they burst into this guy is a bum! and throws all the good he did out the window. The guy is looking better than ever, even if its only preseason. That first game in Seattle will tell us what kind of quarterback we'll have this season.

No the morons are not Women. Just closet raider fans trying to stir sh!t up. You make a good point though. Any buffoon who graded him lower than B is automatically accepted into the ACP and their opinion should not be valued at any point during the season about Smith's play, it is clear they're not qualified to talk Quarterbacking with the adults here.

That is not a real fan if they get happy when a guy wearing their team colors doesn't do well. I am not sold on Alex yet and wished we would have drafted Rodgers, and think Smith doesn't have the potential that Rodgers does. I will be more than happy if I am 100% wrong and he is the next Joe Montana.

Yeah I feel the same way, I just want to be able to feel confident that he'll make the play when we need him to. I've seen flashes of it, he just needs to put it all together, and so far this preseason, he's showing signs that he just might pull it off. I've always been pulling for him, but I would'nt cry if the team ultimately decided to go in a different direction next year.

I wanted Rodgers too at the time (5 years ago), thought Nolan made a huge mistake by taking Alex, but have since accepted reality.

All that matters now is where Alex Smith is in his current development, and on that front, it pleases me to say that I think he's in a good place.

He's easily playing at a level now that I would assess to be the best of his career.

His passes have zip, and are accurate.
His throws on the run are excellent.
His footwork in the pocket has improved.
His pocket presence has improved.
His improvisational skills have improved.

Most importantly, I see him making plays now. Provided he stays healthy, I think Smith could have his best season to date this season.

Given he didn't have Crabtree, Vernon and had several drops, Alex looked good. He was decisive, escaped trouble, and was on target. Even though Gore only played briefly, we got a little taste of what's to come...Iupati will open some huge holes for him. A stout running game will open up Alex for some big plays downfield via play action.
