Now we can see the reason for Blounts signing earlier on that was reneged by him. I was wondering why that was case. It might be Caulcrick and Dixon make it over Coffee.
Caulcrick acually seems more talented then Coffee but rawer. Even though we do not have a dynamic change of pace runner, I really love Leroy Vann's niftiness and quickness. I think he might make reverses interesting but they need to use that as a fake often too but our coaches seem to be as dense as a neutron star when it comes to fooling anyone.

Um...Frank Gore was a 3rd rounder....
same with a guy named Joe, but that was a while ago.

I agree. I think there is a strong possibility that Coffee gets cut. If they actually attempted to trade him and were denied, then Coffee really doesn't have much, if not any, value on this team.
When it comes down to it, the number 2 RB is one play away from being the full-time starter, and I don't think Coffee can handle that gig. To be honest, until we have a verdict on either Coffee or Dixon, Idk if we have a legit option at RB2.
C'mon Frank, stay healthy buddy!

Who's worse?
Kentwan Balmer or Glen Coffee?
Lets also throw in Chilo Rachal.
Balmer and Rachal have a chance to become decent players. Coffee can become average at best. I wonder if Scotty M was watching Ingram highlights and thought they were Coffee's?
Balmer has more kick returns and special teams value than Coffee...WTF

According to Glenn Dickey, Nolan tried to trade Alex Smith in the 2005 draft to the Bucs, hoping to get more pics and then pick up Rodgers, but the deal fell through and he was left holding the bag.

so are the rumors true that the team really didn't get along with coffee? that he was pretty much being a b***h? if so I don't mind dumping his b***h ass. He was good in preaseason so that doesn't mean s**t. I already like dixon more than coffee and I haven't seen him carry the ball once.

Coffee didn't seem to have any burst last year. He couldn't seem to hit holes and get to the second level. I didn't see enough of him to say whether he missed holes or could not break tackles.
He was basically two yards and a cloud of dust. For a guy that was supposed to be a hard nosed runner, he went down at the first contact.
Perhaps this year, with an improved line and a little more body weight, he can bust some tackles and stretch his runs. Otherwise, he'll get replaced in 2011.

Coffee just seems like eh. He's not big, he's not fast, He's not powerful, and he he couldn't break a tackle to save his life last yr. Does he have anything going for him?

Taken with a large grain of salt, I read it here in this thread.

Citing a source.
I've got a source that tells me that unnamed sources with supposed information isn't really information at all.
I literally had a source tell me that the players and organization didn't like what they saw from Coffee, he came in and complained about having to be on special teams, and that turned a lot of heads. I don't think he had/has the right attitude of the team they're trying to build. I think Dixon has a good shot at steeling his job.
