I don't understand how Revis is ranked higher than Willis either. No doubt he was the best corner in the league this LAST season. Willis has been the best MLB in the league since his rokie season. He's led the league in tackle 2 of his first 3 seasons and was second in tackles his 2nd season, he's the complete package and can do anything asked of a defensive player, to me he is definately a top 10 player. And how is that peckerhead Rivers at number 11?
Oh by the way they have Vernon at number 81, but i love what they had to say about our offense
81. Vernon Davis, TE, 49ers (2009 Rank: Unranked)
After years of being dismissed as a combine wonder and a draft bust, Davis emerged as one of the game’s top tight ends in 2009. Tying the NFL record for most TD catches by a tight end in a season with 13, Davis was selected to his first Pro Bowl. In 2010, Davis joins Alex Smith, Frank Gore, and Michael Crabtree on one of the league’s youngest — and most exciting — offensive units. Big things are expected.

Phillip Rivers at #11 and Aaron Rogers even higher, what have these two QB's done except get sackked a tremendous amount or throw a lot of Int's? I don't agree with this placement looks like someones opinion instead of reality.

Revis is hands down the best defender in football and deserves to be ahead of Willis. He's the most feared person in football, and is the only true shut down corner in the NFL. When you get Peyton Manning to completely avoid you that's saying something.

so if he's the most feared in the nfl... would you take revis or willis if both of them were free agents? and we had a need at both positions? keep in mind your defense is built around the linebacker... not built around the corner. nnamdi and champ bailey would be as good as revis if they had the kinda talent revis has on his team. and not only that you have rex ryan as your hc. it's easy to avoid a cornerback... it's called not throwing to that side... it's hard to avoid the linebacker! he covers sideline to sideline
cornerbacks are up and down. i remember a few years back people were talking the same hype about nnamdi. that hype died down. i remember a few years back they were talking about champ bailey. that hype died down. they're all good cornerbacks but just like i said in a earlier post they cover 25% of whats on the field. where linebackers cover sideline to sideline, against pulling guards, fullbacks, tight ends, runningbacks... and for willis to lead 2 out of 3 years in tackles. be the only player to win the butkus award in college and pros. if you wanna go by stats and resume... what has revis done over 3 years? and what has willis done over 3 years. its a no brainer!

These lists are erroneous. They have an offense/skill player/QB bias. In my opinion, the most dominant defensive player in the league should not be behind the fourth "best" QB. I am not say PWillie is the best defensive player but a list like this loses credibility for me when the top four players are QBs and out of the top 10 only 2 or 3 are defensive players.

I wouldn't get so worked up about Revis being ranked higher than Willis. Revis was the star player on the league's best defense last season. It's not surprising they ranked him higher.
The only issue I have is that Rodgers and Roethlisberger are ranked higher than Willis.

Defenses aren't necessary built around linebackers. The Ravens were, but there's plenty of great 3-4 teams with average inside linebackers. Off the top of your head whose Pittsburgh's inside linebacker?
Asoumongah (or whatever his name is) and Champ would not be as good as Revis if they had the Jets talent around them. I completely disagree with that.
Not many teams can afford to have their go to guy being completely shut down. Yeah you're avoiding him that doesn't mean he's not having a huge impact though.
I'd probally take Willis over Revis long term though just because it's alot easier to be a dominant LB for 12 years than it is to be a shut down corner.
Corners take a little longer to develop than linebackers. There's a reason why defensive rookie of the year is always won by a middle linebacker. For the last year and half though Revis has been more dominant than any other corner by a long shot.
