You guys amaze me with your football knowledge. How come we just don't sign a vet who has been a center all his NFL career geniuses
So what do you expect the FO to do? They are trying to sign a center. Should we not have a back-up plan just incase we get turned down? Lets put all of our eggs in one basket and just say screw it.
We already did that in the CB race.

This is one year where I would have loved to see Heittman start at Center. In the past, due to our offensive philosophy, I wanted Baas at Center over Heittman. It would have been very interesting to see how Heittman, an athletic OL, do in the WCO.
IMHO, I think Snyder is going to be a good fit. He is very versatile and athletic. He also understands nearly every position on the OL.

Yes, will really miss Heitmann but Snyder is in a good place to make line calls, having played almost evey position. Perhaps this will help the young guys and they won't look so lost. Wragge as a back up is OK as well...though I would like to see if he could win the RG position. The WCO needs heady players and vets usually work out better than rookies.

I just can't agree...Center is one of the most important positions on the Team and these guys are not skilled at this position. It will be one more excuse for Alex to suck and this time it will be justified...look how good Peyton Manning is without Jeff Saturday. If nothing else, we need a veteran to show the other guys how it's done.

Interesting to read the beginning of this thread when everyone was hating on Baas, saying he wasn't good enough to be a backup at C, cut him immediately, etc.
A year of rock-solid performance later, he signs with the NY Giants for $26 million.
Shows how good you guys are at assessing C talent.
And how good the NY Giants are at overpaying, but still. He's good.
Snyder might be a similar suprise?
