If Snyder or Baas are able to play Center that would make Wragge and Wallace expendable, and that last (9th) OL spot could be used to protect Boone on the 53
With Sims being a one more year insurance policy, I think the Niners would love for Boone to take over that swing tackle spot in 2011 and beyond, He will get snatched if they try to PS him

Keeping him makes it much more possible for someone like Boone to make the roster. When you have every position backed up by one guy then you can afford to have developmental players on your line.
Just because he didn't work out as a starter doesn't mean he should be on the team.

I hope to god Snyder is off the roster in 2010.
Sims is very good (as a backup) at LT, and decent at RT.
Boone is showing potential at RT and LT.
Baas is a capable situational starter at RG and LG. He's at least improving his ability to play center.
Wragge is not a bad 3 OL positional player as a #9.
Snyder has shown extreme flaws in his craft at LT, LG, RG, and RT. He's statistically one of the worst OL players in the NFL. This is the exact reason why we drafted Davis.
LT: Staley/Sims
LG: Iupati/Baas
OC: Heitmann/(Baas/Wragge)
RG: Rachal/Wragge
RT: Davis/Boone
yeah snyder sucks

He started at left guard until the middle of his senior season, when he was moved to center. As a senior in 2004, he was the Hugh H. Rader awardee as the Wolverines' best offensive lineman, a finalist for the Outland Trophy, given to college football's best interior lineman, and a co-recipient of the Dave Rimington Trophy, awarded to college football's top center. He was a consensus All-America selection as well.[1] He majored in general studies.
unless the other player of the co-recipient of the dave remington trophy was wragge..... doubt it. structure? oh well
Um right. That happened six years ago. We select our backup center based on what happened at college.
So why has Wragge had all the backup duties?

because baas was equelly good at guard... and he started at guard... wragge will never start at any oline position. if it doesnt have to do with an injury. has wwragge started? besides injury, no he has never earned a starting role and baas has

Snyder? Struth! Wonder how he did. Gotta be better than Snyder at tackle!
baas is better than both at center... but heitmann is not losing his position

yeah i think the 9ers are just trying to figure out there best backup OL options. Whomever sticks as a reserve interior lineman is going to have to be versatile enough to play both OG spots and OC. Baas has to be the frontrunner the staff has shown zero confidence in Wraage and even less in Wallace. Snyder is just getting a look because that is the only way he makes the roster with Davis taking over at RT and Sims/Boone vying for the backup OT spot.

Wragge will be backup IMO. And Baas will be history

Bass is a starter at guard and Wragge is only a backup. I would assume they are going to keep the starter quality player, especially if he can backup at C.
