OMG vernon just tweeted he ate ____.......come on people.

Well if he was eating s**t, we'd all be commenting about how he should watch his diet during the offseason and eating healthy so it wouldn't affect his game.

JK... what else are we supposed to be talking about this time of the year?? Our best QB being released for another 1st round bust Or how we aren't doing much to retain players that were backups to the worst O-line last year Or how about continue b***hing about the fact that Jed hasn't gone Hitler on Santa Claran's ass and imposed his will on them and built a stadium already?

You should create another thread with something more interesting. Mix it up a little bit.

Now, on the disses. Those are always the truth. Because the athlete just lost control for a moment and let out what they really feel.

Bottomline.

Vernon may or may not think much of Alex Smith the QB
Patrick Willis definitely does not think much of Carr
Urlacher definitely thinks Cutler is a p***y

Urlacher is right about Cutler.

... And no, I'm not ripping on Alex. It is a valid question.

Not having to learn a new system by having the same offence for two off seasons in a row for the first time in his pro career is something different. Do know how much he'll improve by having that though???

I will pose the same question to you:
I agree that having the same system and same OC should help. If anything, his mind can be on how to improve or fine-tune the plays, rather than learn a new system.

But how much weight can you put on that and how much has to do with instincts, physical ability, pocket presence, etc? For example... Do you think Payton Manning, the best NFL QB right now, would go from being the best to top 15 if he were to go to a different system and new OC this year?? I highly doubt it.

Lol Peyton Manning doesnt need a OC, he basically is the OC, he calls the plays, he calls the audibles, its basically all him it probably wont affect him at all if their OC leaves.

I would not go that far. Peyton fought in the off-season that they bring his OC back. Remember he had to retire because that was in the OC's best interest financially. Peyton was pissed that the Colts did not make him a special incentive, they did...he came back, everyone was happy.

Now maybe it is just comfort. But even Peyton the great prefers to keep this OC his whole career if possible

I would go as far to say as almost everytime a guy loses control he is speaking the truth....and pretty much saying what everybody is already thinking.

Why the LOL?? You are supporting my point. If you are a good QB, you could thrive in any system that is thrown at you. Here, in Japan, Canada, with Hostler, Raye, Tom Moore, or anybody calling the shots. Payton is the best because he doesnt need as much support from his surrounding cast.

Because this offseason hes assured the starting job, VD matured and is the best TE in the league, he also has Crabtree who will probably reach more than 1000 yards next season, and finally has the same coordinator for more than a year and Mike Nolans not his coach anymore.

I wouldn't be so sure on the "assured the starting job" with Carr being brought in. I disagree with it, but dont be surprised if s**t hits the fan and there is another competition.

Vernon did mature and Crabtree should help. The Mike Nolan excuse I don't buy because the kid should have manned up and not let him treat him like his b***h!

Again, one of the best in the league??

Id say Vernons the best blocking TE in the league...He drops some balls but 11 TDs is a lot...
Singletary said Alex Smith will start next season..but it would suck if theres another competition for some reason

And my point here was that Peyton Manning is amazing..Theres no one like him.. I know youre not comparing Manning to Alex, but if you were it would be like comparing Superman to a ninja turtle

Anyways I do think Alex will improve the season..But I dont think he'll be a top quarterback in the league

but Peyton has already had a foundation installed over years and years. Even if they changed coordinators you think they would change the system? We haven't established a system of any sort since the WCO left town, its always some new idea on how to re-invent the wheel. If Alex or any Quarterback for that matter were afforded the luxary of having the same system in place for as long as Peyton has, the playcaller would become irrelevant the same way it has for Manning.

how about, i heard it will be his first season with same oc, and basically half a seasons offense being the same going into camp. steve young said it best, hes a spread qb, put him in a spread. too bad he said that when alex got drafted, no one listened. And knowing hes got crabtree and davis to help him, i wouldn't be completly shocked.

Don't buy too much into them switching their offensive philosophy and become a spread offense. Singletary and Raye will make tweaks to their gameplan, but not much as we saw at the end of last year.

Also, he had Crabtree and Davis last year didn't he?

Being #2 QB means 0 rep's with starters, and Smith and Crabtree played a little catch when Crabtree signed. Not like the skill players were at all dialed in.

Maybe this year he won't injury his shoulder, secondly he's not having to rehab it this year so should come into camp in great shape and ready to get to work.

At this point in time no Peyton would not drop off too much perhaps. In his third year as a full time starter if he never had a stable Offensive system to grow in ..yeh i highly highly doubt Peyton would ever be the player he is today.

btw. Davis is the only one you can point to Crabs was lost 7 games plus hes a rook so hes not NEARLY as polished as youd like him to be.
