Josh Morgan is NOT fine and needs to be replaced sooner than later. Fact of the matter is that we are not getting any production out of him. I'd go so far as to say he's in the top 3 of most overrated players on this team.

It's also evident that the Niners as a whole lack team speed. Morgan's lack of speed hurts us and it's one of the main reasons why our offense can't get untracked.

Our offense can't get on track because of stupid penalties. Receivers need qb's to look good.

WHAT!!! QB's need receivers who make plays. Josh Morgan doesn't do that, he is to much of a p***y to stretch his arms out best being bent 90degrees.

Ted Ginn should be starting, atleast he is a playmaker.
Zeigler please!
Part of Singletary's problem is that he's so damned stubborn! It seems that many of the problems are so easy to solve, a third grader could figure them out.

Another poster correctly pointed out that we have very limited success running up the gut, yet what do over and over and over? Run up the gut.

Poor Alex has 3 seconds to get rid of the ball. Start watching game film and freeze frame at 3 seconds. Put a circle around each of our receivers. Who's open and who is not open? My guess is that Crabs and Vernon get some good separation and Morgan, being a classic long strider is not open.

You then make a conclusion that while Morgan may be a good intermediate route runner, he's not beating his man in the 10 yard bubble. So you are basically eliminating 1/3 of Alex's targets.

A smart coach would realize this and replace Morgan with somebody that can get open in 3 seconds (Ziggy, Ginn and/or Hill). But yet nothing happens week after week after week! This folks is a prime example of not making offense adjustments.

On offense? Are you kidding me? He is the antitheses of a playmaker as a WR. Playmaker as a return man? YES! As a receiver? Hell no. He doesn't catch anything if there is a defender within 10 yards of him and still runs poor routes even though he's been in the NFL for years and his father is a football coach.

Morgan is so disappointing, if he just has the concentration and effort of a true pro he'd be one hell of a #2 and he would have made our QB look better a few times, like true pro's do for theirs week in and out.

Then Josh Morgan what?
Ginn sucks, he should have stuck with track because of these babies..
I know when we got our first glimpse of this guy in his rookie season, we all thought this man had something special. Since then, all the way to the present he continues to show signs of talent in spurts. Do you guys think the reason he hasn't completely broken out is because of the inconsistent quarterback play or is he just not as good as so many of the faithful thought? I am inclined to go with option A personally .

You really don't have to start a new thread for every player.

Not trying too, just trying to engage in a little niner chatter. Mods you can merge if you wish. My apologies.
My money is on option B

I thought the purpose of a 49er forum, was to talk about the players and or the team. Guess I was wrong.
