Before the season began I said we need a different #2 than Morgan. Again, people laughed at me when I suggested Zeigler.

Good for you. When was the last time you saw Morgan make a diving catch on 3rd and 17 to convert a first down? Zeigler did it in limited action. It seems that whenever he is on the field, he is making nice, clutch receptions. Keep on laughing...

Perhaps Mike Johnson will make the change and get Zeigler more snaps. In Morgan's defense pass interference should have been called on that play.
It seems like every game he makes 2-3 negative plays, whether it be bonehead penalties, lack of effort, running the wrong route (seemed to happen twice last Sunday), dropping passes, having s**tty body control and not getting both feet in bounds (think one of those early drives against Seattle) not being aware of the down marker etc.

He has talent but he just is not a heady receiver and a few athletic plays here and there does not make up for his multitude of errors.
Ginn has replaced Ziegler has the 3rd WR

All of this is why he's not successful. We see it week in and week out.

Which means he MAY be able to get it together. I really think effort is the problem, just learning to be a true PRO day in and day out, he could be very good. Until then I'd like to see some other guy's get a few more snaps.

Morgan has made some nice plays this season. Crabtree has had more annoying screwups, IMO.

And Morgan's blocking is pretty darn good.

A WRs best attribute is not supposed to be his pass blocking. Why are you lemmings falling for Singletary's crap?

He could have layed out a bit and possibly made the catch (I've seen the much maligned Brandon Lloyd, among others, make much tougher catches). He barely reached for it when all he had to do was lean forward to at least make the attempt. I'd bet money Ziggy would have the attempt, if not the catch. I'm tired of hearing how Sing likes his toughness and his blocking. Morgan has never lived up to the potential he showed his rookie year. Time for a change.

This is yet another example of Singletary's stupidity, "Sing likes his toughness and his blocking". He likes a receiver because he blocks? not because he finds openings, creates mismatches, draws attention, makes crucial, difficult catches...but because he blocks.

Exactly. And I hate listening to fans regurgitate that crap. A WRs job is to get open, catch the ball, move the chains, and make plays. Blocking is also an expectation, but way down on the list. A guy shouldn't be starting at WR because he is a good blocker...

Blocking is what seperating Morgan from Hill....that and Hill is always hurt. So they went with Morgan in hopes that he would develop the other skills. But they didnt help him with that instead developed him into a pseudo TE. That is the coaches fault. They were only concerned with him developing his blocking in this "Smash Mouth" offense. He does have the skills and has shown it before that he can be a solid #2 receiver. Thanks again Sing!!
IMHO Morgan is terrible. He could have got the Niners off to a great start if he had made what was only slightly harder than a routine catch on that first play. Right away he got a 10 yard penalty that killed a drive. He never gets separation at all. looks like he makes mistakes on his routes too. Ziegler is a much better receiver.

Moran Norris, Chilo Rachal, and Josh Morgan are holding back the offense.

When they've fallen for silly rhetoric, yes. And that line of thinking doesn't just apply to football.

Which was one of the early indicators that Mike Singletary was a bad coach. When Hill finally got on the field last year, he scored 2 TDs in one game and showed that he was quite possibly the best WR on the team. After that performance, he was sent back to the bench where he has essentially remained ever since.

Singletary does not put the best talent on the field and does not utilize our players correctly. In turn, we underachieve.
