Josh Morgan = John Taylor!
Michael Crabtree < Jerry Rice but man I like watching him when he catches the ball. He snags, slashes and dashes!

Morgan is doing quite well as No 2 but to say he = John Taylor beggars belief. Did you ever see JT play?

Morgan definitely has the potential to be like JT, I'm more concerned about MC playing remotely close to JR!

Comparing Morgan with Taylor is ridiculous at this stage of his career. As ridiculous, right now, as comparing Crabtree with Rice. Taylor amassed 5,500 yards over 9 years with two 1,000 yard seasons. Morgan is on his third, his best being 500 in a year.

Guys, you are right. But he is the closest thing to a Taylor potential we have had for a while, although actually I thought Battle could be Tayloresque, never had the Quarterback or the system though. definetly had the balls though (not footballs)
I strongly feel that Josh is much more talented than Battle or any other receiver we have had since Owens, with the possible exception of Crabtree himself . Bruce was never our guy, Bryant had one long catch and a DUI, and that's about it. i would actually take Ziggy over any of our post owen receivers,
man if Crabtree reaches just half of his potential and Alex keeps his head out of his ass (as he did exquisitly last monday) we have an awesome receiving crew already. s**t now just sprinkle in some Vernon, Delany and Frank, Holy SMokes!
We really need to give our receivers a chance to go up and grab some one on one balls over DBs on some redone fade routes. They aren't fast but they both have shown to be very aggressive when fighting to cat the ball. For years now, it seems as though other teams do this except for us.

You mean just lob a ball in the WRs direction against single coverage? It does seem that we never do that. I would like to see them start doing that and let the recievers make some plays...

Sorry, did you just say you thought Battle could be Taylor-esque? Which Taylor would that be?

OK, both Crabtree and Morgan have a long way to go. Let's not burden them with unreal expectations.

Morgan has played well, but Crabtree needs to get the ball more. He is dangerous with the ball in his hands.

Crabtree was blocking real well tonight.

It is still early in his career, but he looks like another McClueless epic fail, not producing the way a 10th overall pick should have. Dez Bryant looks like a better pick up than Crabtree, granted he has Romo throwing to him, but that punt return was nice as hell.

^epic fail

It's an epic fail if you think that Crabtree has been worth 10 overall so far. Hindsight, I would rather had had Orakpo, Cushing, Harvin, Matthews, Vonte Davis, Knox, or Nicks.

It is still very early, but you're insane if you think he has been worth 10 overall

i dont know why eeryone makes a big deal about crabtree..its only his second year..were a running team...lets give the guy a fair shot before we judge him is all im saying

Morgan vs. Taylor if you want to compare them by there stats, josh actually has the more impressive numbers for the beginning of his career then taylor did. I would quote them for you but im to lazy right now so look them up for yourself

And if I could be bothered I would point out the other weapons on that O and mention Taylor's third year figures. But I can't.
Apparently Morgan isn't our #1 due to Crabtrees "potential" and because people just say he isn't a #1 for the hell of it. As far as I am concerned, if what you do on the field dictates your position on the depth chart. Morgan is our #1.

Morgan is our #2, the highest paid TE in the league is our #1.

and the other weapons on this O?
Every year is the year that Josh Morgan is going to have his breakout year. Let's face it, JM is the 4th best 49er wide receiver and maybe would drop to fifth with a healthy KW involved in the offense. Both Ziegler and Ginn are bigger threats for different reasons. JM's blocking is a plus, but should not be the reason he is starting. He does not get open and does not put pressure on defenses. Ziegler and Ginn should get the bulk of the snaps joining Crabtree.
Thoughts?
I don't know what Singletary sees in him...... Zeigler, Ginn and probably even Hill and Williams would out perform him.

As a karate expert, I will not talk about Josh Morgan's catching ability.
Morgan's "averageness' was never more apparent than on that first pass of the game; the long bomb. He could have layed out a bit and possibly made the catch (I've seen the much maligned Brandon Lloyd, among others, make much tougher catches). He barely reached for it when all he had to do was lean forward to at least make the attempt. I'd bet money Ziggy would have the attempt, if not the catch. I'm tired of hearing how Sing likes his toughness and his blocking. Morgan has never lived up to the potential he showed his rookie year. Time for a change.
