I can't look at this. I'm going to be emotional all day.

So happy for the time Joe and Pat spent with us.

Great letter from Joe showing that he is the epitome of professional class and grace.

What more could you expect.

things i thought of upon hearing the news,, 1 damn joe we never got you a ring but am glad he went out on a really good year. 2 damn those years on crap teams and he never wanted to be traded. 3 telling us before the draft, if borland and davis had tenth of the class joe had.. 4 the game he caught the first down pass and did the greatest first down celebration known to man

Any chance they bring him on as an assistant OL coach? I'd imagine this year would be as good as any to get get him that SB ring, even if it's from a coaching standpoint
usually i say great players do not make great coaches but with gore. cowboy and joe.. i will make exceptions

This MF'er is absolutely going to unretire when we get into the playoffs again.

Count on it.

My two favorite Niners of this century (P. Willis is right up there, too). Thanks for all the good memories, Joe. We'll really miss you.

Yeah I felt this same way when Patrick abruptly retired. It sucks!

My (wishful thinking) prediction, along with others who believe this, is that he's going to comeback sometime next season and help us get that 6th ring...we're getting that f**king ring, bruh!!

Errryone will welcome him back... gets the rest he needs and the money gets worked out for both sides to be satisfied

I Was hoping he would turn into a guard
God DAMN it. Imagine Staley on this OL today with Trent Williams. We could have had one of the most talented OL's in the game with 2 alpha males. Damnit.

I'm going to miss Joe so much. Absolute legend!
