Honestly, if we can somehow steal Taylor Mays and put him at SS after mike retires, Dashon should stay exactly where he his and continue to make plays.

mays might not even be a safety in the NFL. he's just an oversized goldson

Goldson has more coverage skill than Mays, who will probably be a project at whatever position he is drafted at. You have to be able to do more than hit to play safety in the NFL and all the experts say that Mays has absolutely no ball skills.

if mays didnt play for usc would he even be mentioned as a 1st round prospect

Singletary said in the beginning of the year that Goldson, a first-year safety, was honing in on the receivers. Now he is watching both the receivers and the quarterback. "I think Dashon has really matured and gained more confidence as he's gotten more comfortable back there," Singletary said. Indeed, Goldson's development has to be viewed as one of the more positive developments in 2009.

Yeah, he just needs to remember to wrap up. Other than that, he showed pretty good progress late in the season.
I still think he should be moved to SS if Michael Lewis retires. We need a FS that's better in coverage.
This dude is gonna be a Pro Bowler next year.

A little inconsistent and too many times I've seen him just try to annihilate someone and miss a tackle.

I just hope he doesn't become the next Roy Williams.
