it spreads the field and puts less pressure on our offensive line, it worked well with alex smith in the second half. i totally liked that we moved to using 3 and 4 wide sets to open up the field. i also feel it will help open up the run game. it's a balance attack! HELLO ALEX SMITH! and thanks SHAUN HILL FOR THE 3 THAT YOU PUT UP!

it is something simple, but i think one of the big reasons we struggle on offense, we neve ruse PA. just today, io saw a few pass plays out of our base formation, but we did not PA, gore went to the flat, and norris broke down in an OBVIOUS pass blocking technique.

Gore's statistic's show that he's rushing at least 4.0 yards a carry in the "spread". That's much better than his 2.0 average in the conventional offense that includes a FB.

thats because he doesn't have that 8th man in the box. plus the LBs have to play on their heels because of the threat of the pass. it's an offense that "LOOKS" like its a pass first philosophy. Forces the D to play honest.

Everytime we line up with Norris the defense just lines up & blitx thru every gap on the line. We have got to start making teams pay when they do this!

I noticed that too. But that falls back on the O-Line. I'd love to see us throw downfield using that formation, but will Smith have time?

That wasn't a spread offense, but the more pass-oriented offense is helping Gore a lot.

We need more shotgun formations. That's where Alex thrives.
